  I was very happy with work Mattsson Roofing did on our roof. Erik the owner did a thorough check of what the issue was with the roof and explained what needed to be done to fix the issue. On the day of the Job Dan who was responsible for getting the job done kept me informed on what they were doing. As the work progressed he sent me drone shots of the progress to the roof. That was a nice touch. They cleaned up all the debris by the end of the job.

  We recently had our roof completely replaced by Mattsson Roofing and couldn't be more satisfied with the entire experience. From start to finish, Erik and his team were professional, thorough, and delivered exactly what they promised. What set Mattsson apart from every other contractor we contacted was the inspection process. Erik spent 2-3 hours doing a comprehensive evaluation — including getting into the attic — and identified a ventilation problem that none of the other contractors caught. That finding alone changed the entire scope of what needed to be done, and it would have gone unnoticed had we gone with anyone else. That level of diligence is rare. Erik walked us through the entire plan — not just what they were proposing, but why, and what impact each change would have on the longevity and performance of the roof. That level of transparency gave us a lot of confidence. Their quote was also comprehensive and covered more than other contractors we evaluated — including fascia board replacement with white aluminum strips, ventilation corrections, and coordination of new gutter installation through a specialized team. When you compare scope to scope, the value becomes clear. You are paying for expertise, a well thought out plan, and precise execution — and for a project this significant, that's exactly what you want. Erik also provided a list of past roofing jobs in the area, which allowed us to drive by and see the actual shingles on real homes. It's very hard to choose a shingle color and style from a small sample piece alone — being able to see completed work at scale made the decision much easier and gave us additional confidence in the quality of their installations. During the work itself, Dan was fantastic — keeping us informed throughout the day, sending photos of the progress, letting us know when he was stepping out and which door we could use. Small things that made a big difference. The job was completed on time as committed, and the cleanup was excellent. We highly recommend Mattsson Roofing to anyone in the area looking for a contractor who truly knows their craft and takes pride in their work.

  From the first consultation with business principal Erik to the hammering of the last nail, the experience of employing Mattsson Roofing to replace our roof, gutters, and soffits was nothing short of a pleasure, with seamless integration and flawless execution. Erik first conducted a comprehensive drone study of our home, which informed his advice to us and his estimate. Where other roofers counseled us to replace the roof (which would redound to their bottom line), Erik calmly and rationally presented us with the options of replacement and repair, elaborating on the pro’s and con’s of each approach. Once we decided to replace, Erik also presented us with a menu of shingle options and walked us through a video explaining every step of the process, from shingle removal to use of magnets to pick up loose nails/metal debris. Next I was transitioned to project manager Craig Buurnam, who was wonderful, organized, and resourceful in scheduling our work in the very near future. Perhaps the most effective (and frequent!) communicator was our foreman Dan Bennett. Dan and I must have exchanged 30 or so texts over the 1.5 days it took to complete the project. He sent me drone footage as frequent updates on job status and coordinated the safe passage into and out of our home by my family and me. Weeks after completion of the project, an A/C repairman noticed that a flue in our attic had separated and suggested that his company should repair it because “ the roofer never will.” Au contraire! I reported the issue to Craig, and he paid a “house call” a day later to give us a “flue shot” (sorry!!)! Problem solved! If you’re seeking a competent roofing service that offers this kind of “white-glove” service, I would recommend Mattsson Roofing in Glen Rock, NJ, without hesitation or reservation.
