This is well overdue! Last summer I was starting to remodel my home for selling purposes. And I wanted to intsall a new HVAC System. I asked around to a couple of my members at the Country Club I work at, and was directed to this company. I talked for seven minutes, and knew this was the company to go with. Pure professionalism with class, hard working and keeps you updated with their process. I received an excellent price based on the work I needed, and was actually taken care of more than what I expected. Can't wait to do business with these guys again. Thank you for all of your help, especially with NO COMPLAINTS IN A HEATWAVE LOL.
THANKS GUYS!
Frequently Asked Questions About AC Guyz Heating & Air Conditioning
How often should I change my air filter?
Check your filter monthly. Standard 1-inch filters typically require replacement every 30-90 days, though pets, dust, and frequent system operation may shorten this interval. Thicker media filters generally last longer-refer to manufacturer guidelines. A clogged filter limits airflow and can impact comfort, efficiency, and equipment performance.
Why is my heater leaking water?
High-efficiency furnaces create condensation during regular operation, which should drain properly. A blocked drain line, broken hose, or malfunctioning condensate pump may cause leaks. An attached humidifier could also be the culprit. Water collecting near your heater requires attention, particularly around electrical parts. Turn off the system and call AC Guyz for service.
Why is my furnace blowing cold air?
Check that your thermostat is set to "Heat" and the fan setting is on "Auto." When the fan is set to "On," it may blow room-temperature air between heating cycles. If air remains cold during an active heating call, a clogged filter, ignition issue, or safety shutdown could be the cause.
Why does my heater keep turning on and off?
Frequent starts and stops before your home reaches the set temperature are called short cycling. Possible causes include restricted airflow, overheating, thermostat problems, or improperly sized equipment. Check your filter and make sure vents are unobstructed. If it continues, schedule service to identify the cause.
Why won't my thermostat reach the temperature I set?
Your thermostat tells the equipment when to run, but it cannot correct an equipment or airflow problem. Check the operating mode, schedule, filter, and vents first. If the system keeps running without reaching the setting, it may need an inspection for heating or cooling performance, thermostat accuracy, or other system problems.
Why are some rooms colder than others?
Uneven temperatures can result from restricted airflow or problems distributing heat throughout the home. Start by checking that supply vents and return grilles are open and clear of furniture. If certain rooms consistently stay colder, AC Guyz can evaluate the airflow and system operation rather than simply raising the thermostat.
Why does my heater smell when I first turn it on?
A mild dusty odor may appear when heating begins after months of dormancy, and it should dissipate quickly. Lingering odors, smoke, or a burning-plastic scent require prompt attention. Turn off the system and request service. If you detect gas, exit the building without touching switches and contact your gas utility or 911 from outside.
What do unusual noises coming from my furnace mean?
A new or exceptionally loud sound may indicate your furnace requires service, particularly if paired with reduced airflow, inconsistent heat, or repeated shutdowns. Take note of when the noise happens-at startup, during operation, or at shutdown-and relay that to your technician. Turn off the system if the sound is intense or comes with smoke or a burning smell.
Why is my heating bill suddenly so high?
Colder temperatures can drive up heating costs, but a dirty filter or a system operating inefficiently can also play a role. Review your energy consumption alongside the bill amount, and verify your thermostat settings. If increased costs coincide with diminished comfort or unusual system behavior, schedule an inspection.
What should I check before calling for heating repair?
Make sure the thermostat is set to "Heat," the temperature setting exceeds room temperature, and the furnace power switch is in the on position. Replace thermostat batteries if needed, examine the filter, and remove any blocked vents. If these steps don't restore heating, reach out to AC Guyz. Gas odors, smoke, or burning smells demand immediate action.
Why is my AC running but not cooling the house?
Check that the thermostat is set to “Cool” and inspect the air filter. The indoor fan running does not necessarily mean the entire cooling system is working. A refrigerant problem or another equipment fault may prevent proper cooling. If basic checks do not help, AC Guyz can diagnose the system.
Why is water leaking around my air conditioner?
Your air conditioner removes moisture from the air, and that water should leave through its drain system. A drainage problem or a frozen coil that is thawing can cause water to collect around the indoor unit. Turn cooling off to help prevent further damage and have the cause inspected.
Should I leave my thermostat fan on “On” or “Auto”?
“Auto” generally runs the indoor fan when heating or cooling is operating. “On” keeps it running between cycles, circulating air even when the system is not actively heating or cooling. For most homeowners, “Auto” is a practical starting point. Some thermostats also offer a “Circulate” setting for periodic airflow.
Do I really need heating and AC maintenance every year?
Regular maintenance helps keep your equipment operating efficiently and gives a technician an opportunity to identify developing problems. We recommend heating maintenance before winter and AC maintenance before summer. Depending on the equipment, service may include checking controls, electrical connections, airflow, drainage, and heating or cooling operation.
How do I know when it’s time to replace my HVAC system?
Frequent repairs, rising energy use, and difficulty keeping your home comfortable are reasons to consider replacement. Age matters, but it should not be the only factor. AC Guyz can assess the equipment’s condition and explain repair and replacement options so you can decide what makes sense for your home and budget.
Why is my boiler losing pressure?
In a closed hot-water heating system, recurring pressure loss can indicate a water leak or another system problem. Look for visible moisture around accessible pipes, radiator valves, and connections, and tell your technician what you find. Repeatedly adding water does not resolve the underlying cause—ongoing pressure loss should be inspected.
Why are my radiators or baseboards not getting hot?
In a hot-water system, trapped air, restricted circulation, or control problems can prevent heat from reaching certain areas. Check that the thermostat is calling for heat and keep baseboard covers clear of furniture. Bleeding radiators can affect system pressure, so follow your equipment’s instructions or have a technician handle it.
Why does my heat pump blow air that doesn’t feel hot?
Heat pump air may feel less hot than air from a furnace while still warming your home. A brief period of cooler air can also occur during defrost. Pay attention to whether the room temperature reaches your thermostat setting. If it does not, check the filter and thermostat settings, then arrange service if the problem continues.
Is it normal for my heat pump’s outdoor unit to steam in winter?
Yes—a brief cloud of steam during the defrost cycle is usually normal. The system periodically melts frost from the outdoor coil and then returns to heating. Heavy ice that remains on the unit or poor heating performance can indicate a problem and should be checked by a technician.
