Had a reading of 18 piC/L in basement. Hera Tech came in and, without any diagnosis or troubleshooting, switched existing radon pipe from existing sub-slab hole to sump drain and replaced fan, for $1800. Radon went to 10 piC/L after the change. Hera Tech came back to "fix" it further. Again, zero diagnosis. Instead, they installed an additional pipe and additional suction hole 9 feet away from the sump (in a large basement). The change did nothing to reduce the Radon which is still 10. For zero diagnosis and a 9 foot long pipe, we were charged an additional $2000. Hera Tech has refused to provide a refund. $3800 for not resolving the issue, and they do not care. Keep this in mind if you hire them. Red flag is that they did zero diagnosis before making changes....that violates established best practices by NRPP.

I highly recommend this service. From my initial contact with the front office, Jenn provided exceptional assistance in clarifying the appointment process. The technician arrived punctually and demonstrated professionalism throughout the radon machine installation. I will certainly recommend this service to others who may encounter similar concerns. Thank you.

Highly recommend Hera for Radon Mitigation. We had an existing system that was not working and I couldn't get the original installer to address the problem or call us back. After reading the reviews, I called Hera to see if they could diagnose the issue. The team came out and found and corrected several issues with the original installation. They were extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and careful to keep the space clean. I've been tracking our levels with multiple EcoCube units and our Radon has dropped significantly since their corrective action. The owner even contacted me twice to see if we were happy with the work. Overall, 5 star quality from this company.
Frequently Asked Questions About Hera Environmental Laboratories
What is radon and where does it come from?
Radon is an invisible, scentless gas that originates from radioactive elements in soil. It forms when these elements decay, releasing radon gas and other isotopes. Our company offers testing services to detect radon buildup on your property. We also provide air quality assessments, asbestos removal, and mold remediation services in Cherry Hill, NJ.
Can radon affect me?
Radon can indeed impact your health. As it decays, it produces radioactive particles that can attach to dust or smoke in the air. When inhaled, these particles may settle in your lungs, emitting alpha energy. The United States EPA has identified prolonged exposure to high radon levels as the second leading cause of lung cancer, after cigarette smoking. If you have concerns about radon, asbestos, or mold in your home, our company offers remediation services for all three in Cherry Hill, NJ.
How does radon get indoors?
Radon can enter a home through various openings that connect to the soil, such as pipe entry points, joints between basement floors and walls, drains, cracks, and open crawl spaces. It can also be present in water from private wells and small community systems, being released when the water is disturbed. Our company provides radon remediation services, along with asbestos and mold removal, for homes in Cherry Hill, NJ that require these interventions.
What are safe radon levels?
The Environmental Protection Agency recommends that average radon exposure should not exceed 4.0 pCi/L. In New Jersey, approximately 30% of tested homes surpass this level. Our company, Hera Environmental Laboratories, offers radon testing and removal services in addition to our mold remediation work in Cherry Hill, NJ. We can assess and address radon issues in your home.
What is my township's average radon concentration?
Information about average radon concentrations by county can be accessed through the American Lung Association's website. Our company provides radon testing and remediation services, as well as asbestos and mold removal, for homes in Cherry Hill, NJ that require these services.
What is mold?
Mold is a simple microscopic organism found both indoors and outdoors. It thrives on moisture and breaks down dead organic matter. Due to its rapid reproduction, mold can gradually damage its growth surface. It often appears as discoloration, typically in shades of green, gray, brown, or black, but can manifest in various colors. Recent statistics indicate that about 47% of residential properties in the United States show signs of mold presence. Given its quick growth in homes, professional mold remediation services in Cherry Hill, NJ are often necessary for complete eradication.

How can radon affect my health?
Radon exposure is a significant health risk and a leading cause of lung cancer among non-smokers. It emits radioactive particles that can be inhaled and trapped in your lungs, so regular radon testing is important.
