I met with Robert on Memorial Day, May 31st. Despite it being a holiday and likely one of his few days off, Bob was out meeting customers and providing estimates. We spent some time discussing the paving work I needed, and his quote was very competitive compared to the other companies I had contacted.
A few weeks later, Bob and his crew arrived and got right to work. Throughout the project, he communicated well, asked questions to ensure everything was done correctly, and kept the job moving efficiently. The work was completed on time and the quality exceeded my expectations.
I would highly recommend Robert and his crew to anyone looking for professional, high-quality asphalt work. Great communication, fair pricing, and excellent craftsmanship from start to finish.

Bow seal coating came to my place the other day and did a beautiful job. I have had seal coating done in the past and I was not happy with the result, overspray on my concrete walkway and edges of the garage trim. Bow seal coating take pride in there work and it shows. Very happy with the quality and service I received. They promptly scheduled my job even though we had to work around the weather. I will call them again when the time comes.

Installation timeframes vary by project scope. Smaller projects such as parking lots and drive lanes typically require 1-3 days, while larger commercial sites may extend from several days to a few weeks. Factors including weather conditions, site preparation requirements, and necessary curing time will influence the overall project duration.
How soon can we use the asphalt?
Pedestrian traffic can typically resume within 24 hours after installation. For vehicle traffic and parking, we recommend waiting approximately 3 days. Complete curing takes between 30-90 days, during which time heavy loads should be minimized to preserve the integrity of the new surface.
How long does commercial asphalt last?
Commercial asphalt typically provides 15-25 years of service life. Longevity depends on several factors including traffic volume (particularly heavy truck traffic), climate conditions (New Hampshire's freeze-thaw cycles can impact durability), and the frequency of maintenance performed.
What affects the cost?
Several factors determine project costs: the overall size of the project (larger projects generally have lower costs per square foot), asphalt layer thickness requirements, base preparation work (including grading and excavation), drainage system needs, and site accessibility.
Do we need a new base, or can you overlay existing pavement?
Overlay applications are feasible when the existing surface maintains structural integrity. Complete replacement becomes necessary when the surface exhibits deep cracking, potholes, or base failure. A professional inspection is essential to determine the appropriate approach for your specific situation.
What is the typical installation process?
Our standard installation process involves site clearing and demolition (when required), grading and leveling the surface, installing or repairing the base layer, applying and compacting the asphalt material, and completing the project with striping and finishing work.
How important is drainage?
Drainage is critical to asphalt longevity. Inadequate drainage represents one of the primary causes of premature asphalt deterioration. Water infiltration frequently leads to cracking, pothole formation, and structural base failure.
What maintenance is required?
Proper maintenance includes sealcoating every 2-3 years, addressing cracks with appropriate sealing methods as they appear, and conducting regular cleaning and inspection routines. Implementing a comprehensive maintenance program can potentially double the lifespan of your asphalt surface.
Can asphalt be installed in cold weather?
Optimal installation occurs when temperatures reach 50F (10C) and continue rising. Cold weather conditions compromise proper compaction of the asphalt material. While late fall installations remain possible, they present increased risk factors that must be carefully managed.
Will installation disrupt business operations?
Some disruption is inevitable, but we implement strategies to minimize impact. These include phased work approaches (completing the project section by section), weekend scheduling options, and establishing temporary access routes to maintain business functionality during construction.
