Right product ...right price ...right availability makes Lumber Liquidators a must stop if your putting in Luxury Vinyl Floors ...go check them out and ask for Anfernee. Small enough to get your arms around many quality choices ...we tried the big box stores and felt lost with no help around to work with us.

We purchased an engineered Hickory wood floor from Lumber Liquidators ("LL Flooring") that was so bad, our builder's installers stopped installing it after a thirty (30) foot long, three (3) foot wide run and called me because of the problems they had with the end joints which would not properly connect or lay flat, the number of short pieces contained in each box was unacceptable and certain pieces the color was so dark it was obvious those pieces had to be mistakenly placed in the box. The installers opened 7 of the 100 boxes and found over 50% of each box contained short scrap pieces of 12 to 18 inches long, which would have resulted in hundreds of joints in the floor, which was not what we purchased. In the past, we ordered LL Flooring, and the product was superior and the service great; however, this time, we spent $14,000.00 but did not receive the floor we thought we were purchasing. We returned everything; however, they would not take back open boxes, or the defective pieces my installers had to take up, or the risers and treads we ordered because they said it was a custom order; however, it is still a stock item. I was charged a $2,500.00 restocking fee for flooring that was unacceptable and not fit for the purpose for which I purchased it. We spent over $14,000.00; however, we were only credited back $8,217.44. When I called on multiple occasions to speak to the store manager to obtain the area manager's name, job title and contact information, store personnel became silent and refused to return my call with the requested information. As an attorney who represents businesses, this is exactly how a business should never react. This is a classic example of how a problem, which could have been quickly handled, blows up and results in litigation costs of tens of thousands of dollars even for a $14,000.00 purchase, which does not include damages in terms of the project delay, cost of purchasing new materials, rent for an additional month at a premium, additional charges from the sub-contractors who had to come back at a later date which impacted their business. A problem that should have been quickly and amicably resolved, will more than likely exceed $100,000.00 in total legal fees and damages. As a result, in the future I will not purchase flooring from LL Flooring, and I will advise my client builders and their clients to steer clear of LL Flooring. What a shame.
