  Had PJ come out to give me an estimate for to install a regulator on the outside natural gas line for the gas grill. PJ was super! He answered my questions, appeared very knowledgeable and was easy to talk to.

  Zach did a wonderful job and represented Benjamin Franklin Plumbing company well. He fixed our whistling toilet and also completed a complimentary plumbing inspection of the whole house. Based on his findings, we decided to replace our 15 year old hot water heater which has seen better days. He explained all our options, provided estimates and answered all our questions. He was prompt, courteous and personable.

  Tech could not get pilot light to ignite the burner on the gas hot water heater. Said he could not remove the cover or break the seal on the water heater to use a lighter to ignite the pilot light. All he wanted to do was sell me tankless water heater “$6967.84” Two more quotes one for $1626.40 to replace the burner unit and one just to replace pilot assembly for $734.02. The next morning I called O’Brien service center they came this afternoon to my surprise a young lady showed up, she pulled the cover off the gas water heater used a torch to ignite the pilot light and the burner was working. All she charged me was $132.68 what a Big Difference in service and cost. I would not recommend Benjamin Franklin Plumbing.

  We lost our tankless hot water during the tremendous storm Friday. We tried everything we knew to do, to no avail. The repair man quickly found that the outlet was no working. He plugged in an extension cord from our garage to the heater to give hot water today and tomorrow and hopeful your electrician can replace the outlet tomorrow.

  I contacted Benjamin Franklin to help discover the cause of a leak that was causing water to drip down and pool in large puddles in my garage and also into my attached neighbor’s garage as well. A technician arrived and began to investigate the source of the leak and to try to determine where the water was coming from. He asked to cut holes in portions of the garage ceiling and above and behind the shower on my first floor bathroom. Even in doing so, he was unable to locate the source of the leak. I had mentioned to him that an upstairs toilet was running every 4 minutes and if that would be a concern at all. He looked at it and told me that it was only probably causing the water bill to go up since it was running that frequently. He said they could either replace the entire toilet or perform a quick fix for the current moment but again told me he didn’t think the leak was coming from there. He ended up tightening a ring on a pipe above my garage and said that he thought that was the answer since the ring had appeared loose. So he left the for the day and the water appeared to have slowed down. The next morning, my garage and my neighbor’s garage had water on both of the floors again and it was dripping from my garage ceiling. I called Benjamin Franklin to come back to take another look. The same technician arrived and again looked around and couldn’t seem to locate the source of the leak. He told me he thought it was coming from my neighbor’s condo. So in turn, my neighbor called Benjamin Franklin to employ their services since they were already on scene. The technician cut a hole in their ceiling and looked in their bathroom and again couldn’t locate the source of the leak. He suggested that we both pay for a leak detection service from his company to come back and try to find the leak. So he left and charged both myself and my neighbor for his time. Water continued to drip all day and night and pool again in both of our garages. In the meantime, I was given a name of another plumbing company and put a call into them to come out for a second opinion. They came the next day and within an hour had located the source of the leak. They left to go get supplies to repair the leak and within three hours the leak was repaired and nothing was dripping. It remained dry all that day and the next so the leak has been taken care of by the other company who was able to locate the source and complete the repair. It ended up being a 16” crack in the drain pipe that runs from the upstairs bathroom to the downstairs bathroom. It was removed and replaced. I don’t think the right amount of time or effort was given by Benjamin Franklin to try and locate the source of the leak, so I am left with a negative experience using their company.
