My wife and I wanted a screened in porch added on the back/side of our house over looking our ingrown pool. We contacted a few contractors and we felt most comfortable with Diego with Raptor Roofing. He kept us at ease. Our house was built in 1915 and we did not want to take away the integrity of it. Diego assured us we were in good hands . Little did we know we were in GREAT HANDS. His team came out and cleared our old decking out and had the footers set on day one. They were extremely professional and always showed up bright and early and always left the site clean and tidy at the end of each day. They kept us in the loop with every decision and went above and beyond with late requests. At the end we had our 16X16 beautiful screened in deck with a custom metal roof.

How long will it take for me to see a leak in my house?
It depends on the source of the leak. If the leak is due to a damaged pipe boot (which seals around exhaust pipes on your roof), it could be immediate.
If it’s coming from your flashing, (often found where shingles meet a wall, chimney, or gable), it could take 1-2 years; however, the damage it will create along the way could be extensive. Before you see the leak, it will potentially soak through your roof decking, insulation, trusses, and beams.
The worst part is, throughout the leaks journey it could cause extensive damage to your HVAC system and or your electrical.
If you suspect a roof leak, don’t wait, call Raptor Roofing for professional leak detection and emergency roof repair.
How do I know if the leak is coming from my roof vs my HVAC system, or my plumbing?
Water stains in your attic are a telltale sign of a roof leak. However, sometimes water travels straight to the ceiling, bypassing visible structures. For an accurate assessment, contact Raptor Roofing for a professional roof inspection at (984) 318-6065
What symptoms do I experience if I have mold or mildew in my house?
If you’ve felt like you have allergies for a prolonged period of time such as coughs, runny nose, wheezing, and/or fatigue as well as extensive headaches or difficulty concentrating.
How do I know if I have mold in my house?
Prolonged allergy-like symptoms (coughing, fatigue, headaches, congestion), combined with musty odors or dark patches on walls or ceilings, may indicate mold from a roof leak.
Common mold-prone areas due to roof damage:
Behind drywall and under carpets
Inside ductwork and around vents
Near bubbling paint, warped flooring, or peeling wallpaper
If you expect mold or mildew, please don’t put you and or your family’s health at risk. Call us today for a complimentary inspection
What is the benefit of getting a new roof versus repairing my roof?
Assess the age or your roof and type of shingle. If it’s older than 20 years we highly recommend you replace it unless you have composite shingles or a metal roof.
Assess the extent of the damage. If it’s coming from a pipe boot or flashing, it’s an easy repair that involves calking and replacing those damaged accessories.
When did the damage occur? If you’ve prolonged the repair the water may be seeping into your decking which is under your shingles. This weakens the infrastructure of your home and roof.
If you are missing shingles, or there’s a visible hole you will want to replace that roof if you can.
How often should I have my roof inspected?
Once a year is ideal, especially after strong storms.
Will my insurance go up if I submit a claim for my roof?
Potentially, yes. Several factors are assessed such as:
The nature of the claim. Was the damage done because of a storm and or negligence/delay in fixing the issue
Your credit worthiness
Claim history. If it’s your 1st claim many insurance companies offer 1st claim forgiveness which is an important question when shopping for your homeowner's insurance.
Where do most leaks come from on the roof, and how do I stop them?
Most roof leaks start around:
Pipe boots and exhaust vents
Flashing near chimneys, walls, or gables
Missing shingles or exposed nails
Regular maintenance and professional roof inspections can prevent these issues.
What can I do myself (DIY) if I have a leak?
Step 1: Understand your limitations and don’t put yourself in danger! If you have a steep roof pitch or no eaves that are lower than 1 story, please call a professional
Step 2: Before you get on the roof, bring roof sealant with you.
Step 3: Find where the water is impeding. This can be done more easily from most attics. Look for
Cracked pipe boots, (where your exhaust pipes are exiting the roof).
There should be metal called flashing; however sometime due to animals or strong weather the flashing will lift. (Anywhere shingle meet walls, gables, chimneys, etc.).
Anywhere you are missing shingles
Visible missing or “popped” nails
Step 4: Caulk the places above that are exposed
If you have a visible hole you will need to tarp it.
The best course of action is: DO NOT TAKE THE SAFETY RISK. LEAVE IT TO THE PROFESSIONALS. Call us today at(984) 318-6065
How long do roof shingles last?
The short answer is 10-50 years.
The factors that extend your roofs’ life is choosing a roofing company with experience and certification in the shingle they are using as well as applying high quality underlayment, accessories and choosing higher end shingles.
What types of shingles will last the longest?
BRAVA Composite Shingles, are designed to last for at least 50 years.
Architect Shingles typically last 20-30 years and are designed for higher winds.
Atlas shingles offer exceptional durability and aesthetic appeal, making them a top choice for homeowners seeking long-lasting roofing solutions. Engineered with advanced technologies like Core4® and HP42®, these shingles provide superior protection against extreme weather conditions, including high winds up to 150 mph and hail impact. Additionally, features like 3M™ Scotchgard™ Protector ensure long-term resistance to algae growth, maintaining the roof's appearance over time.
3Tab shingles have the shortest life span of 10-15 years in most cases, especially if you get hit with storms that generate 60mph wind or higher, although realistically if the 3Tab shingles are builder grade we’ve seen 35mph wind do extensive damage on 4-year-old roofs.
How can I cool off my attic?
From the 1950s -1970’s Attic fans were somewhat helpful to reduce the heat of your attic. In the 70’s and 80’s Ridge Vents started to gain traction and emerge as a better, more energy-efficient way to cool down your house naturally.
*Important Note: If you choose to combine both means mentioned above, make sure you hire a team that understands how to position the correct attic exhaust fan, otherwise the fan and ridge vent will counteract each other.

How long does a replacement roof take?
To strip and replace the average American home takes typically between 1-3 days depending on the size and degree of difficulty.
Do new roofs have warranties?
Yes, an industry standard is a 2-year workmanship guarantee. Raptor Roofing offers a 10-year workmanship guarantee. Products such as shingles and accessories vary from 5–50-year warranties.
*Important Note: When you see a lifetime warranty, make sure to read the fine print.
