- HNHorse NoNameJul 27, 20261.0I was disappointed with Appalachian Comfort Systems and Controls. There were two young guys at my house and one was an arrogant know-it-all who seemed to think I knew nothing about anything. They bolted down my heat pump using washers, except they just laid the washers on top of the bolt rather than underneath.Yes, you could just pick up the washer from on top of the bolt. Were they lazy and just decided I wouldn't notice? They did additional sloppy work to the point they were ready to leave and I had to tell them they need fix a few things first. Later I noticed a few more things that were sloppy. I fixed those things myself. This is not the work I expect from a professional. When they were finished they tested the system and said all is well. All was not well. The house would not cool. A few days later I had to call someone in to fix the problem. On top of all of that, they took a piece of my property without asking. I was told when they gave me the estimate that they would attach it to the heat pump, but instead they took it without asking. I asked about it later and they said they figured it was trash, but they didn't offer to return it or replace it. I have never had a professional take something without asking first, even when it was obvious it was trash. By the way, it was not trash. It was perfectly fine and I would have kept it and found a use for it. Perhaps they thought they could use it as well?
