Bass Air installed our new heat pump. Every interaction we had with them, from Jeremy, Zach, Anthony, and Blayne, was exceptional. They are friendly and efficient. They did a fantastic job cleaning up after they finished the install. Their price is better than their competitors. If you need any HVAC work, this is the team to call.
I thought my air conditioner went out on me so I called bass and they come out on Friday. I was thinking that maybe it was something that they can do in the day, but it wasn’t, when Matt told me that I had a leak and he told me if they filled it up with I guess the Freon that it was gonna cost me about $800-$1000, but it was only gonna last a day or maybe even a week. He told me he was gonna check with his supervisor to make sure that it was what he said.supervisor came out and he verified that was what he said. I’m thinking the supervisor had to go in the attic mind you that he took pictures so I didn’t know why the supervisor come out. I think the supervisor come out because he wanted to pretty much sell something they said For that leak, it will cost me about $7000 so I might as well get a new unit. My unit was 16 years old. Jeremy the supervisor was saying to me that he can Get me financed for another AC and that’s the reason why I think he came out to sell me something like a sells associate. I’m a single female and I already told them to their face that I don’t trust them so I’m trying to suck all this in and Jeremy is trying to sell me something asking me if I got family that can cosign for me and AC and I’m like no, I got another gentleman that goes to my church. He actually came out. Check my AC the next day he came here and went up to the attic went to the back and he told me it was Going to be OK I needed to reset my AC he said once it get too hot, the AC was working so hard that it needed to be reset, listen When I tell you that Man had my AC on that day. It was cool and it’s been working since. A lot of people have said to me don’t go to bass, but it was only because. Bass put my AC unit In when I moved here. I think they seen a young woman by herself was a great opportunity. I don’t think he really wanted to do it that day because it was raining and lightning. And I understand who wants to work outside was that type of weather,so the Moral of the story is this, Especially if you are a female, please ask someone else for a second opinion because I almost gave up. Bass ended up taking $105 from me for 20 minutes and did nothing. Beware

🚨 $15,000 FOR A COMPRESSOR I DIDN’T NEED?! READ THIS BEFORE YOU CALL AN HVAC COMPANY. 🚨
A day before leaving for vacation, my AC went out. Naturally, I wanted to know what I was dealing with, so I contacted Bass Air Conditioning to diagnose the problem.
They came out, inspected the system, and told me my compressor had gone out. I was told the unit was outdated and needed to be replaced.
I specifically asked both the technician AND his supervisor if there was any kind of simple fix, temporary fix, or alternative that could get my AC running.
I was told NO.
Their recommendation? A completely new system.
💰 $15,000.
So I paid for the diagnosis and contacted my home warranty company to get a second opinion through Comfort Air.
Here’s where this gets crazy…
I was already on vacation, so I had a friend meet the technician at my house.
Within FIVE MINUTES, Comfort First Heating and Cooling found the problem.
It wasn’t a bad compressor.
It wasn’t a bad unit.
It wasn’t a $15,000 problem.
🔥 IT WAS A BLOWN FUSE.
Yes… a fuse.
The AC is now up and running and blowing cold air.
Let that sink in.
I was told I needed an entirely new HVAC system because my compressor was supposedly bad. I was told there was no simple or temporary solution.
Meanwhile, another company walked in and found a blown fuse in about five minutes.
I reached back out to Bass Air because I believe this situation deserves to be addressed. At minimum, I expected them to acknowledge what happened and reimburse me for the diagnostic fee.
I was told someone would call me back.
24 hours later… nothing.
So since I haven’t received a response, I’m sharing my experience publicly.
I’m not posting this to attack anyone. I’m posting it because $15,000 is a LOT of money, and I can’t imagine what would have happened if I hadn’t gotten a second opinion.
Before you spend thousands of dollars on an HVAC repair or replacement, GET A SECOND OPINION.
Because sometimes the difference between a $15,000 replacement and a working AC… is a fuse.
Bass Air — I’m still willing to have a conversation and give you the opportunity to address this.

The three stars comes from the excellent service of Hal. He came right to my unit and noticed the capacitor was swollen. After testing it and establishing it it's in fact bad he explained he had two types on him, a cheaper one that was the same as I had in there already and another one American made that came with a 5 year warranty. Between the two was only a 26 dollar difference so go with the better one right? So keep in mind this is after hours my unit had gone down in the afternoon and by time I could find someone come out was late that afternoon so thankfully they were able to get me someone out because my house was 85 degrees and climbing 😩. So normal cost would have been $99 after hours $189 eh ok I'm in an emergency, capacitor normal hours $430 after hours $530 😩. Well I need to be cool to sleep so go ahead do it, he was nice enough throw a Lil discount in the total to come out to $709 😭. Look up the same capacitor after my buddy told me how much they are.... at most $100 but alot of places have them cheaper! 😩😭
