  We are writing this review in our efforts to help others not make the same mistake we did. On September 20, we placed a contract on a DRB Home. However, prior to placing the contract on the home, we were told that the model home build-back process would take approximately 60 days. Thus, we decided that the timeframe would not accommodate our needs; therefore, we decided not to put a contract on the house. However, the sells representative, Sanytra Johnson contacted our realtor and stated the build-back process could be completed and we could go to settlement on October 22, 2026. We then put a contract on the house and paid a deposit on Sunday, September 20. On Thursday, September 24, we received a text message from Ms. Johnson stating the closing date has been changed to November 23. Ironically, this is the same timeframe prior to us signing the contract. We stated to Ms. Johnson that the closing timeframe would not work as we were clear regarding our family needs prior to signing the contract. We requested that our deposit be refunded due to the breach in contract. We were then provided 3 additional proposed closing dates to include, November 23, November 12 and finally the end of October. I’m sure you recognize at this time we were being told anything so the contract wouldn’t be canceled. We requested to cancel the contract and was told our deposit is non-refundable. We will continue to pursue all legal options to ensure our deposit be refunded. In our experience, DRB home representatives have breached the contract and they cannot be trusted in any way to do what they say they will do. In fact, as the build-back process was being done, we witness the siding bulging on the outside of the house and a large crack in the wall downstairs. Of course, we video everything to have proof. We remain hopeful that DRB will return our deposit and that they will start to have integrity at all times.

  My husband and I recently visited the DRB Homes Raleigh Division Design Studio to design our new home, and we had the absolute pleasure of working with Asia. From the very beginning, she made us feel comfortable and at ease. The selection process was incredible—there were so many options to choose from, including upgrades and features we didn't even realize were possibilities! Asia made decision-making effortless, offering thoughtful, expert feedback every step of the way. Most importantly, she kept us completely on budget without compromising on what we wanted. It was a totally stress-free, enjoyable experience, and we are so grateful for her expertise. Thank you so much, Asia, for helping us bring our dream home to life!

  We first met Jen through a realtor we ultimately did not continue working with. At the time, we knew we wanted something a little larger for our family, but that need was unfortunately overlooked, and we were never shown or told about the single-family homes that were available. What impressed me most about Jen is that she didn’t have to get involved at all.. but she did. She reached out to us and mentioned that a single-family home was available and wasn’t sure whether we knew about it. We didn’t. That simple act changed everything. From that moment, I knew Jen was special. She went above and beyond what anyone would reasonably expect. Because of her initiative, we were able to explore an option that turned out to be the perfect fit for our family. We immediately fell in love with the home and moved forward with the process. Although there were a few twists and turns along the way, everything worked out in the end. If it weren’t for Jen, we would have never known about the beautiful single-family home that we now proudly call ours. Jen’s dedication, professionalism, honesty, and genuine care for her clients truly set her apart. She is an incredible representative of DRB Homes, and her efforts deserve to be recognized.   What started as a good experience building our forever home, has turned into anything but good experience. From a project manager who hates when you question him or his work, and won't respond to messages if you want him to do his job. To POORLY kept work sites & our community looks like a dump with trash always blowing around & dumpsters overflowing. To a non-responsive warranty company, who makes you jump through hoops, then refuses to fix their mistakes or issues. Currently our biggest issue is DRB not wanting to fulfill their warranty work, because we currently have a lawn full of dead sod, and what isn't dead is onion grass weeds. After weeks & weeks of trying to get a response, we are told sod is only warranted for 30 days after close, we closed end of December when the sod is dormant. So how are we supposed to know it didn't root properly in the middle of winter??? Plus it takes upwards of 60 days for it to root properly, so we are screwed. DRB wants water bills, pictures, and for us to jump through hoops to even consider replacing & will only do so if we can prove it was an issue on their end. On top of that we have several neighbors we leaking roofs, defective roof shingles, sewer lines that were leaking due to drywall screws going into them, our yards are ALL POORLY graded causing divets, uneven areas, water to pool and DRB REFUSES to fix the issues. My suggestion, stay farrrrrr away if you want a builder who stands behind their work.
