- MFMike FenskeMay 8, 20262.0We purchased new flooring from the Carpet Shoppe after our basement flooded. The pricing seemed fair and reasonable at first, but unfortunately the problems began with the installation process. The company sent a single installer, along with his children, to complete nearly 1,200 square feet of flooring that was supposed to take two days. On the first day, they arrived late, spent most of the time prepping the floor, and left around 2:30 p.m. The second day, they again arrived late and still did not complete even half of the installation. They returned a third day, once again arriving late. Since we had work and sporting events to attend, we could not remain home the entire time. During that visit, the installer left one of his younger sons working alone while he went to another job site. The crew stayed at our house until 10:45 p.m., and we eventually had to ask them to leave. We were essentially expected to allow them to work as late as necessary because they did not want to return on Sunday. In the end, they still had to come back Monday to finish the job. We are also not fully satisfied with the final result, as there are several noticeable issues with the flooring. We returned to the Carpet Shoppe to discuss our concerns with our salesperson, who told us someone would come inspect the work and address any needed corrections. It has now been over three weeks, and despite multiple text messages, we have received no response or follow-up.
