- MNMonte NealMay 3, 20262.0Tri State did an estimate via Lowes projects for a Kohler generator install . I requested a non-turn key install (Unit install only), but the estimator did a turn-key estimate and we never got to a non turn-key estimate. I signed a contract to secure the job until other estimates came in. 24 hours later I utilized the" FTC 3 Day Cooling Off Rule " and canceled the contract, after certified companies came back with estimates including factory direct programs, leading to a reduction of $6287 (37.02%) by a smaller certified and established Kholer dealer (Not to mention the addition of a Cold Winter Kit for the generator). Considering I was told I was getting a good price for Military discount, that is absolutely ridiculous. . No one has that "High-end" amount of money to give up for a turn key project. I am giving at least two stars because the Power Specialist was very professional. I can't blame him for that outrages price set by the organization. It is his job to make the presentation and sale. But I will not support a business model, at the cost of my own financial detriment. I would think twice about contacting Tri Sate Water Power & Air if you don't have estimates from other companies to compare. Just because they are affiliated with Lowes means nothing. Do your research for what you personally want and need. Not for what they want to sale you.
