  Heartland did a great job replacing our old fence! This was not an easy job, It was not fast due to all the rock, but it was built right and built to last. If your looking for a fence co, you just found the one.

  Marie was very professional and great to work with! Not only was she extremely organized, but she clearly explained the entire concrete/retaining wall repair process from beginning to end, making it obvious that she takes pride in delivering completed projects on time and as promised.

  We hired Heartland for a stamped concrete patio, expecting a premium product for the premium price we paid. While the foundational structure is solid, the execution, attention to detail, and final finish were disappointing given the price. I ultimately had to act as my own quality assurance manager to prevent major, permanent mistakes, essentially paying a premium price to do their job for them. If you hire them for decorative stamped concrete, prepare to micromanage the crew. Pros: >Marie (owner) was very communicative throughout the process >Structural integrity of the install is solid as they used high PSI concrete, thick rebar, and a solid stone base underneath >Very responsive to feedback with a commitment to make things right, even if the execution didn't always match the commitment ----------------------------------------------------------- Cons: >Initially, some of the color was not evenly applied. The team came out to apply more color and left a caked on mess of powder on one area of the patio (Photo added). They came out later to seal over the top of that and I had to stop them to have them correctly apply it. Had they proceeded with sealing what was essentially a thick layer of powder coat, it would have inevitably chipped and peeled away, ruining the finish. Had I not been home to oversee their work, this would have been more problematic. They tried spraying it with a hose which made it look even worse - they were going to seal over literal footprints (Photo added). I had to play the role of quality assurance and tell them to come back with a power washer to do it appropriately. Inexcusable given the price of the final product. >I requested to have my deck stairs cut and sitting on top of the patio. I paid extra labor for this, however the team did not listen to my request and instead poured my stair stringers into the concrete despite making this clear several times to Marie and the team prior to starting the project (Photo added). This will make replacing my deck stairs in the future a hassle that will need to involve repairing specific areas of the concrete. The stringers themselves were also not covered prior to the pour and are now susceptible to rot. >The sealer was applied too thick and they did not wait long enough for it to dry after washing the patio. I have several areas of blushing and cracks in the finish and I do not feel I can trust the crew to fix it properly. Photo added. >Through the process no mention was made of how slippery the acrylic coating would be if it got wet - it is nearly like ice. I brought this up to Marie and was told they have a special concrete coating guy who could apply a special grit for over $1,000. This came as a surprise as I wish this had been brought up as an option initially to save time and money. Also, the fact there is a 3rd party "sealer guy" tells me the initial crew may not be trusted with this type of work, which given the cons listed above seems to track.

  We started out thinking we just needed fencing, put with a huge incline up to the back of the property, and all of the rain, it made it clear we needed more to handle the water that was accumulating at the house. Starting with Marie, who had an excellent vision of what the yard could be, and her crew who did an excellent job of bringing her vision to life, we love the end product! Now it's up to us and lots of watering to keep everything alive. I would 100% recommend Heartland for your yard projects!

  So glad we chose Heartland to add a curved patio to our backyard and bury some downspouts! They responded immediately when we reached out for a quote, were clearly experts in their field offering different options for us to consider, and fit us in their schedule quickly. We’re so happy with the finished product that allows our family more outside space to relax and enjoy together!
