  I contacted McQuillan for a spring AC season inspection. They were able to come out the same day, and I was very happy with the service and the price. The tech, Daruis, was professional, friendly, and efficient. because of this interaction, I believe that I will become a home care club member. (I also am to receive a free water heater flush as part of the offering , which was a nice add-on, albeit this will be a different service call.)

  Mcquillan fixed the ignitor. This went well. We were then quoted $3,500 simply to clean our residential boiler system. This 2nd price is not in alignment with national rates for this service and seems predatory to me. It literally took my breath away. I would like to hear the justification for that quoted price from Mcquillans. (In researching this further, Mcquillan’s was purchased by private equity in June of 2024, and may explain the attempted price gauging behavior.)

  Somewhat overpriced from there 69.00 dollar quote on phone. I had asked the scheduler about service charge and trip charge she said they charge the 69 dollars which would be credited towards the diagnostic and actual repair. I think the total charge which was near 250.00 was excessive for tightening 2 screws and a collar on the kitchen sink, no supplies were needed. The Tatiacs used to book the job approaches bait and switch

  I had two services scheduled, a HVAC maintenance and an electrical inspection as part of a prepaid service contract. The HVAC maintenance was great. The technician was great. The electrical inspection was a no show. They left a message five minutes before the end of the appointment window to let me know that they were not coming. I tried to call and see if they would still come. The phone system had rolled over to an AI service. I asked for a real person to call back. When I didn’t get a call back the next morning I called again. I was transferred to “customer service “. It was quickly clear they were only interested in rescheduling. After being interrupted i asked to speak to a supervisor. They let me know I would get a call within 24 - 48 hours. Then hung up on me. I called back and asked to speak to a supervisor. They offered to transfer me to customer service. I declined. They let me know they would have a supervisor call me asap. That was last Thursday. It’s Monday morning and I’m still waiting.

  This is a rare moment where despite TWO attempts to give McQuillan Home Services my business, it was an utter failure. A friend used them last year and had a very positive experience. Unfortunately I had a polar opposite one. I have a nearly 5-year-old water heater and wanted to do the annual preventative maintenance. I scheduled out a visit a month in advance. On the day of - they still hadn't shown up by 3.25 hrs into the 4 hr window promised. I then received a text message they would not be coming and to call a specific number to reschedule the appt. I called the number provided and an AI operator "answered" the call. When I indicated I wanted to talk to a human, it said a representative would call me back. That did not happen, so I called the main line and eventually found a human if I opted to "schedule an appointment". We rescheduled for another appt 2 weeks out, I asked since they were a no-show the first time, to please have my place at the top of the list for the 2nd attempt. Yet again, it did not happen. And as I was about get on a daily call for work, I was notified that the person was on the way. I texted back to what I assume is another AI bot, that the tech was supposed to be here 2.5 hrs prior to this and that they'll need to wait until my call is over. The AI bot said it "didn't" know this request was made. I noted the call would be over at 3 pm. The tech still showed up. of which he only had to wait exactly 12 min. I noted I'd let him know as soon as it was over and that it'd be over at 3 at the latest. When the call ended, I walked out my door. The tech was no where to be seen. And there was no McQuillan van anywhere on my block. I called the line again. got the same AI operator, where a representative will call me back. I then had to call the main line again, "request a new appointment" to get to another human, who seemingly understood this parody of what should be a basic appt. And that the AI bot/operators are not easy to work with (again) I said to please cancel my appt, and that I'll take my business somewhere else. Yet, the person said I'll personally need to notify dispatch, of which while I was put on HOLD WAITING FOR A PERSON, and the tech showing up at 3:20. So I had to be the bearer of not-fun news in-person, in that I don't ever want to work with this company - and that he was not present as promised at the time set up. (12 pm) Even after he left, I still never got a human, I had to disconnect the call while on hold. In summary, if you want a company that will: 1. Make you talk to AI operators. 2. Not show up for scheduled appts. 3. Make you do all the footwork if they are no-shows. ....then McQuillan Home Services is the company for you. Or you can go find another local business who will have nice humans to talk to and actually show up to do the job. I'm going with the 2nd option....
