Rollercoaster of an experience, and not the fun kind. In January, we had a sales representative come to look at our bathroom, explained all of our options and gave us an estimate. Everything sounded perfect, until it wasn't. The estimate was said to never go up in price and yet when their construction team came out to take measurements, they stated our ‘firm’ price would be going up. We of course said no, that’s not what the sales representative said, and they begrudgingly agreed to not raise the price. The sales representative also stated all of the work that would be completed would be done by Mad City employees. That wasn't the case. We had a contracted-out electrician and plumber. Communication throughout the whole project was horrid. We would call and text and would either never get a response or would reach someone who didn’t know what we were talking about or how to help, giving us another number to call who would also say they were the wrong people to talk to. Phone cycle of doom. We waited over 1 month for the project to start, which was longer than expected, and it took longer to complete, 2 days rather than 1. After they ‘finished’ the install, the results were far less than satisfactory. The back panel of the shower was crooked, the caulking was either messy or non-existent, the glass was not set properly, and the shower panels were not glued down all the way, making a clicking sound when pressed. It took over 2 weeks for us to get ahold of someone for them to even consider coming to take a look at what issues we were seeing. During these two weeks, we had their contracted plumber come out 2 times for water pressure, lukewarm water, and shower cartridge issues (which were also not resolved until over a month later). The plumber's fix was that he didn't have time to fix our issue since he was going on vacation and that we should fill buckets of water to see how much hot water we were allotted and base our shower times off of that (our water heater is less than 1 years old). About 2 weeks later, when we finally had someone come look at our other issues, they even said it was unacceptable what state our 'finished' product was in. When they were leaving, they said someone would be giving us a call the next day to schedule a re-install/fix. Crickets. Took about a week for a call. About a month later, they came and fixed everything but the glass, that took another 2 weeks. We had no one follow up with us after they fixed everything. We were expecting, and promised, good communication, a hassle-free experience, and a perfect product. For a company that says they are customer-centered and want to ensure 100% satisfaction, it does not show at all.

Alex B. was my installer job mc104491nmn We are 100% happy with the installation of our new shower/tub. Great service, great employees! Alex took care of everything for us, he was extremely prompt and talked us through the process every step of the way. If something wasn't right, he remedied the situation. A piece of our old tub hit our toilet when he was breaking it out and chipped the top. Alex called the manager who brought us a new toilet within the hour! Top notch service from pleasant people.

2 stars for the quality of the product. They offer what seems to be a high quality product that may be worth the price tag depending on your situation. No-obligation estimate did not translate to comfortable, no pressure estimate in my encounter but that's not to say it was the norm. They may take 1-2 hours of your day and dismiss your intention in favor of their sale. I called them out for a shower pan that was leaking and inquiring about their product and price. Was upfront in telling them this is to make the shower structurally sound before selling the house. I told them I was considering repair vs entirely new. At this point they could have started with the "quality and longevity of the product" as it relates to price and tried to gain more insight to my expectations the the amount of money I'm willing to put into a house that's going to be sold. This would have saved time and effort for both parties. A simple "our showers run upwards of 10k because of their quality" or "our systems will be more expensive than a repair but I can tell you about them to help you make the right decision" both would have displayed honest and upfront communication that can be respected and make me want to learn more. Instead they started with selling the company. As soon as the sales pitch started, I knew the price was going to be more than I was willing to pay. I couldn't help but sit there and watch the dollars add up as I anticipated the pricetag would include me paying for the salesman's salary after spending this much time in my house. At first I tried to be patient and tactfully reiterate my purpose for the estimate as it related to my situation. When he continued to prioritize his speal over my needs/situation my mindset shifted to "how can I get the estimate and get him out of my home as fast as possible". He was in my home for nearly an hour before he even got to discussing the product. Its discomforting when the sales person is in your home and you feel like there's no escape. In a car lot, I can walk away. In this situation I had to figure out how to get this person out of my house. In the end, if this was my forever home, I would pay the price for the product and longevity. Though honestly, I would probably research if any other companies installed it because by the time he left I never wanted them back through these doors. Since this isn't my forever home and I can't justify 15k for a small shower in a house that's about to be sold, it's a no for me.

I had a great experience with this company! From the initial sales contacts at the Home and Garden Show in February to the finished product. Scott & Travis the installers did a fast and fantastic job with the installation of a bath/shower combo in my main bathroom and a single shower in my ensuite. Thank you Mad City!
