  I needed an A/C repair on a Mitsubishi mini split air conditioner. The technician, Jared, was excellent at diagnosing the problem which required a pump replacement after some parts had to be ordered. After a few days the parts arrived and he came to do the install. He was a pleasure to work with and did an excellent job explaining the issue and what caused the a/c system to shut down. It wasn’t a simple issue. I was very pleased with his expertise and work.

  Kyle from Hurlbert came to inspect my plumbing today. He was polite, professional and fast — he both found and quickly repaired a leaking valve leading from my water heater in no time at all. Ever since I had my AC replaced and a heating pump installed by Hurlbert last fall, they have been doing such a great job keeping all of my home’s mechanical services in great shape! I can’t recommend Hurlbert (and Kyle! highly enough, for great products and service.

  Sent info prior to appointment from inspector on whether or not they needed to pull a permit. Told I could sent the info “ if I wanted to.” Permit had not been pulled and worker did not appear to know anything about it. Have been in co fact with them since Monday and no one has followed up with me. Also the pipe repair in my basement was leaking g after work was done and someone had to return to complete the repair

  I spent a month researching what was causing my A/C unit to seemingly short cycle. Even to take an online course for A/C troubleshooting, narrowing my problem to either low Freon or CMF or static pressure problems. I have serviced and kept both the furnace and a/c cleaned, replaced contactor, capacitor,,and followed the manufacturer’s maintenance schedule as I felt comfortable doing so because of my profession as an aircraft electrician with over 40 of experience. You sent Eric V. to troubleshoot my problem. He was willing to keep me informed on his progress and I told him all of my concerns. He did a good job with all of his checks. My three major concerns that I told both the scheduler and Eric to check were what is theCFM, static pressure, Freon and why is it short cycling. Update: now after a week of monitoring the A/C it is still short cycling. Eric found with the “Fieldpiece” test that “actual subcooling” and “vapor saturation” were low and needed Freon. He quoted a price of $480 for the first pound of Freon and $308 for any additional pounds. ( I was shocked) Additionally he said that he had to also put in UV leak detector for $461 because it is required by the EPA, which is not true. He said I could get a second opinion which would have cost me additional time and money. The prices this company charges is obscene. I did go ahead and had him service it and still have the same problem. After paying over $1200 with the problem not being resolved I would recommend not using hurlburt.

  My experience was wonderful! Jim was amazing as well as Alton S, he fixed multiple gas leaks spots within the utility room pipes. This was a mistake another company made and he made things right. He was great at explaining everything. He made sure I understood that everything was done correctly and safe for my son and I. He was kind, friendly and made sure everything would be safe. Alton S went over thoroughly everything thing a second time. I would recommend both of them to anyone. I will be calling them back going forward to keep my family safe and keep the house running smoothly.
