What type of equipment is needed?

For optimal graffiti removal, we recommend a 3000 psi pressure washer capable of heating water to approximately 190 degrees at a 5 gpm flow. When using a cold water pressure washer (1500-3000 psi), extend chemical dwell time to at least 20 minutes. If only a garden hose is available, apply the product, wait 10 minutes, use a medium nylon bristle brush to agitate, reapply and wait another 20 minutes. Then rinse using the jet stream setting, working from bottom to top.

How are the products applied?

All Graffiti Solutions products require direct application. Elephant Snot can be applied using either a thick nap roller or wallpaper paste brush. For Shadow Max, use a brush or trigger sprayer. Smooth Max should also be applied with a brush or sprayer, followed by agitation after the appropriate dwell time to enhance performance. Always thoroughly rinse your application equipment immediately after use.

Will it work on stucco?

Stucco presents significant challenges for graffiti removal due to its textured surface with numerous fissures and its relatively soft composition. We recommend a generous application of Elephant Snot with extended dwell time (30-40 minutes) for effective results. Use hot water at 1000 psi when possible. Shadow Max application may be required in some cases. Please note that painted stucco surfaces are best addressed by repainting rather than chemical removal.

What about synthetic stucco - also known as EIFS?

Currently, our chemical procedures are too aggressive for synthetic stucco (EIFS) facades. Our research and development team is actively working to develop an effective solution for this increasingly common issue.

Why do I need Shadow Max and when do I need Shadow Max?

Shadow Max is designed specifically to address shadows or ghosts-the light-colored remnants of graffiti tags consisting of paint pigment that remains after the carrier has been removed. It functions as a second-step treatment rather than an initial application on porous surfaces. For enhanced effectiveness, after initial removal efforts, apply Shadow Max followed immediately by Elephant Snot, allow five minutes of dwell time, then pressure wash.

Permanent marker on playground equipment can be completely removed using Graffiti Solutions Shadow Max Multi-Surface as a first-step cleaner. This represents an alternative application for Shadow Max, which is typically employed as a secondary treatment on porous surfaces.
