I made an appointment with Dean's because the fan on my furnace stopped working. They came out and diagnosed it for free and the tech was nice and professional. That's the only reason they get two stars instead of one. They quoted me $2200 to replace the blower motor. No way I was doing that so I replaced it myself. The part was $420, which was actually the high end of my options, and it's working great now. It took me maybe an hour of actual work so the math says they were going to charge me $1800 an hour! In addition, they gave me a second estimate to replace the evaporator coil, AC compressor, and heat exchanger and it was almost $11,000. So unless you want to take on a car payment to fix up a 13 year old system, I'd shop around.

If I could go negative stars I would! Had an issue with my AC tripping a breaker. Had a tech out ad well as a sales rep and was told my furnace and AC were completely shot and they couldn’t believe they were still running. Priced me out at 19k for a new furnace and AC and after all the incredible discounts had me down to almost 13k (what a joke). Was told they could only hold that pricing for the day and that I should get on the schedule to have it all replaced tomorrow. Something wasn’t sitting right so I decided to get a second opinion and was told I needed a new capacitor on my AC (which made complete sense). Moral of the story, super I pressure sales tactic. I will be sure no one I know ever uses theses guys. How a company can morally operate like that says a ton about the owners. Stealing is stealing no matter how you disguise it.

The pricing is INSANE. I expressed concerns that other quote seemed high and was dismissed. Then while the plumber was working I got a quote from a Certified Pumber at Home Depot. Dean’s charged me $1,100 for a new wax seal on a toilet. A job Home Depot would have charged me $400 for. The seal could not have been too expensive. I asked for a breakdown of my bill and the plumber couldn’t give me one. I asked how much the labor was per hour (he was here 1.5 hours) and he said he didn’t know. So it seems like they charged my $400-500 per hour for labor, but who can tell. I’ll never use them again. What a scam.

I usually do not post online reviews, but I am sharing my experience to raise awareness about the business practices at Dean's Home Services. I hired Dean's to clear a clogged drain that another company was previously unable to resolve. That first company acted completely professionally—they explicitly told me they could not fix the issue and did not charge me a single penny. In contrast, when I scheduled with Dean's, I explained the situation beforehand and reminded the technician upon arrival. He stated the job would cost $440 (reflecting a $100 August discount) and asked me to sign paperwork to authorize the work. After spending only 10–15 minutes in the basement, he was unable to clear the line due to a T-cleanout inside the wall. Leaving the issue completely unresolved, he charged my card the full amount and told me to call the office for another assessment. The invoice later labeled this charge as merely an "attempt to clear." Charging $444.32 for an unsuccessful 15-minute attempt that provided no resolution directly contradicts fair business practices. I reached out to management, offering to pay a standard $49 service fee for the technician's travel time while requesting a refund for the balance, but they denied my request. As a result, I have disputed the charges through my credit card company and will be following up with the Better Business Bureau and the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office. I hope sharing my experience helps others avoid these types of bad practices

Biggest mistake we made was not hiring Dean’s sooner! We ran into an issue with our furnace due to a bad repair from a previous company, and Dean’s made an incredibly stressful situation so much easier. The HVAC guys who installed our new furnace and AC were wonderful—very professional, great communication throughout the entire process, and they took the time to answer every question we had. We also had Dean’s install a new water system, so we had a few different plumbers at our house as well. Every single one of them was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. They explained our options, helped us figure out what would work best for our home, and had everything installed in one day. You can really tell they take pride in their work. They take their time, do things correctly, and make sure everything is clean, organized, and well placed when they’re finished. We worked closely with the manager, Eddie, who was fantastic. He helped coordinate everything and made sure we had exactly what we needed throughout the entire process. Overall, we had such a great experience with Dean’s. They made a very stressful situation so much easier for our family, and I genuinely wish we had called them sooner. I will absolutely continue recommending Dean’s to everyone I know!
