Dean's Home Services is truly a shining star! This is my second time expressing my gratitude to Dean's through a review. I recently had the entire HVAC system replaced, including the central air unit, furnace, and water heater, and I must say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The professionalism and customer care displayed by Dean's employees is beyond praise. Sam N. in the HVAC department was my initial point of contact, and his expertise and friendly demeanor immediately put me at ease. He diagnosed the issues with my central AC unit and furnace with ease and explained everything in a way that was easy to understand. Sam N. Was very friendly. Tyler C., who worked with trainee Art, was outstanding in setting up the installation project and finance. Both Tyler and Art were knowledgeable, patient, caring, understanding, and professional, making a potentially stressful situation a breeze. When the installation day arrived a few day'sago, technicians Luke L. and Korey D. were punctual, efficient, and courteous. Very friendly gentleman. Austin S., who installed the new water heater, was also fantastic. I had a plumber come out today for a clogged drain, thanks to Tyler's arrangement, Chad S., went above and beyond to clear not just the laundry room drain but also the kitchen sink and bathroom tub drains. He was wonderful. Jake, the dispatcher, was friendly and understanding as well. Dean's Home Services truly has a wonderful team, and I'm so grateful for their exceptional service. The financing option was a huge help, and I'm thankful for their flexibility. Thank you to Sam N., Tyler C., Art, Austin S., Luke L., Korey D., Chad S., and the entire Dean's team for making this experience so positive. You're not just a service provider, Dean's - you're a guardian of comfort and peace of mind. I would 100% recommend Dean's Home Services for all home repair needs. 10/10! And to Dean's, all of your employees that I had out at my house recently, including last summer, deserve the utmost recognition and praise. Thank you!!!

First I want to start with how great Dean's as a whole. Our house is becoming a Dean's only house. The day of service was booked up but they came out NEXT day for a main sewer back up. So thankful I didn't have to wait multiple days with no bathroom. Secondly, Eli and his trainee, Amanda, were awesome. Eli answered all my questions and we connected on a personal level as we went to the same high school and knew some of the same people so it wasn't just all sales pitchy talk. One of the main things I love about Dean's is I have NEVER been pressured into making a buying decision on the spot. Every experience I've had they've laid out the options and then give me the time to think it over. I would 100% recommend Dean's and Eli for anyone's home services needs!

I fired Dean’s about 10 years ago after finding DeZiels HVAC, who has been servicing both my cabin and primary residence ever since. DeZiels was incredible - always reliable, reasonably priced and dedicated to impeccable Customer Service. If your AC went out in July or heat went out in January, they would be there if it meant 11:00 PM on a Saturday night. They just did good business. I was so disappointed to hear they were acquired by Dean’s back in 2024. I had bought my new furnace from DeZiel’s so had to work with Dean's because they now had the warranty. Never. Ever. Again. Dean’s leadership should be ashamed of themselves. This company is corrupt, arrogant, price-gauges and has zero concept of what customer service means. One of their plumbers tried to sell me a 40 gallon water heater for $7K installed. Do they think consumers are stupid? I literally laughed him out the door. All he did was bash the smaller plumbing companies in the surrounding area as “incompetent” and “uneducated.” Today I called to schedule 1 of the 5 annual evaluations that come with their service club offering only to be told they “are not scheduling them.” All they did was make excuses, talk over me or hang up. Last time I checked, it’s illegal to take money for a service you don’t deliver. Abby, Anna and Taylor should absolutely not be trusted handling Dean's customer success. They are entitled, disrespectful and have not figured out it is MUCH easier to keep customers satisfied than to find new ones. Good luck. What a horrible ending to the DeZiel’s legacy.

This was the first time I have tried this company and had terrible service! Woke up to my boiler being out so I decided to call Dean's Home Services. On the phone they said there will be a travel charge of about $90 but never said anything about a service charge of $225 until the tech was already in my basement which at that point I had no other choice to agree to him waiting all morning and already having to call of work. He first spent his time looking at the water heater and fuse box which was not needed to service the boiler, to see how old they were and when they were last replaced which I thought was odd because that was not what the service call I called for. The tech was using his phone flashlight the whole time which we could barely see. HVAC techs usually have to work in dark basements so what kind of tech does not carry a flashlight!? Through messing around for a while, he stated that he found the part but will not make it functional after he fixes it because he doesn't deem the boiler to be safe because there are signs of flames inside. THERE ARE FLAMES inside because it is a BOILER! I told him that why would he even fix it and not make it work then? I told him that I bet he is going to recommend that I replace the whole unit and he said yes. I stated that I've had this unit service by multiple companies in the past two years and no one said it was unsafe or that I need to replace the unit to which he stated that I should have used another company then. That's when I told him to leave. Since the minute he came in I already felt the salesman vibe from him wanting to up charge. I told him I do not like his services and I would him to leave my house. He then stood over the exit blocking me in the basement and demanded payment even though I was unhappy with his services and his lack of knowledge of the unit. With my kids being upstairs I told him we will have to move upstairs because that is where my wallet is and he finally budged. He then proceeds to take his sweet time going to the dining room table, turning on the light and then slowly putting on his layers of jackets then takes off his jacket to readjust it again until I walked past him and held the door open. On his way out he told me good luck ordering parts for the unit because it was going to be over $900 and is not going to work anyways. I do feel sorry for the more vulnerable, minority families that this tech takes advantage of but I was educated and immediately knew it was a scam. As soon as he left wasting my morning, I got on the phone with Metro Heating. They diagnosed it in less than 10 minutes, got the part back within the hour which the part was only $68! Metro heating was very thorough with their quotes and billing over the phone and nothing was different than discussed. Dean Home Services wasted my time and now I'm scammed out of $225 so they must have needed it more than I did. Tech wouldn't even email me a receipt for proof of payment, I had to call the office. Tech's name is Steve.

I don't normally write bad reviews but for Dean's I am happy to make an exception. Things went about as bad as they could go. First Day: Called for AC service. Extremely hot spring day and the AC is barely producing cold air. I get scheduled a few days out, 8-4pm. No call that day until late afternoon, "sorry, we are too busy today, let's reschedule." Second Day: 8-4pm window again, another day wasted waiting around. I finally get a call that they are coming this time. He comes but cannot properly test the AC because, it's MN and temps have dropped below 60. I get it. First we had the weather, now we don't. Not happy but it is what it is. Tech was friendly and easy to work with at least. Didn't stop him from charging me for incomplete service. Third Day: 8-4pm window again. ANOTHER day spent waiting around with little to no communication. I figured since it was a recall that I would be a top priority. Nope. The whole day passes, no call, no show. I call back fuming. They schedule me for a forth day, free of charge. Oh joy, you aren't going to charge me for something I already paid for. As an added bonus I was given a year free of Dean's Care (or lack thereof), their fundamentally useless free maintenance and diagnostic service. Forth Day: 8-4pm window. I get a call that he is coming late morning, and he does. He is grumpy and has zero tableside manner. He barely says anything and goes to work. He immediately starts punching holes in the duct work!! I get it, how else are you going to check airflow but did you need to just punch massive holes, then slap some duct tape on it and call it good? It looks terrible and it cannot be good for the laminar flow of the air. He says the problem could be a check value, since the install is so new it should be covered under warranty. Guess who installed it? They did. But he cannot be certain, because now its working after he banged on it. Fine. If it is the valve, call them back and the part is free, but the service to replace, the labor, is not. And guess what, the cost is exorbitant. Well it quits working again, this time outside of the install warranty so now I would have to pay for labor AND parts. Well if they were on time with their original call we would be well within the warranty period. I am over it. I will deal with the AC on my own. But Mike, what about that wonderful Dean's "Care"? Well, they forced two "free" evaluation services down my throat. 1) Electrical check and 2) a plumbling check. 1) Electrical check was very thorough and quite frankly over the top. I get it, electric is safety and safety is paramount. But a couple things out of this were laughable. Their quotes were insane. $600 to replace an EFI outlet. $1,500 to run an outlet. In total I was quoted for over $15,000 worth of services included the $1,200 redo of an EV charger installation that was performed by another licensed company with valid permits and everything. 2) Plumbing check was just the opposite. I was recommended no services or upgrades. Fine, it passed, great. But it was such a basic check that my grandma could have done it. They literally just flushed each toilet and turned on each faucet then looked underneath for drips. Waste of time. The final straw: Today we had a faulting Carbon Monoxide detector. Centerpoint came out and found no major faults but did find that the Furnace was operating below efficiency. Just a hair too much CO in the exhaust vent. Measured roughly 130 ppm when 100 ppm is considered the safe threshold. Furnace needs a tune up. Well wait, furnace tune ups are included in Dean's "care", and if not, at a minimum they SHOULD be able to give me a free quote for service as part of their package. I called was told that they are at capacity for HVAC service right now. That's wonderful. The one time I actually want to use the service for something useful and I am flat out denied. No, "let's schedule this out a few weeks." No "let me see if I can fit you in for this service that you are getting." Nothing.
