  Platz Electric just installed a Generac generator. They are great to work with from the quote, setting up the install, installing the generator and explaining how it works. Highly recommend Platz Electric.

  Generac had them come out for a warranty call on a new Generac generator. They did not do the installation but they found a factory defect in the unit and plugged a wire in. They contacted the electrician that I had used looking to collect rather than submit it for warranty. They did not contact me. I told my electrician not to pay them a dime.When I contacted them they told me that Generac warranties "sucked" and they felt it was a waste of time submit the claim, I had already contacted Generac and they advised me to get an invoice and that they would handle it. I asked Platz for the invoice and it never arrived. I still wanted a company to call if I had problems in the future. I called them to see if they could put me on their customer list. They sent me a "Service contract" to sign Which I did and sent it back to them.They lost the contract. I sent them another one to which I received no acknowledgement. Months then a year and months passed. I contacted them again to find out what was going on. They said that they couldn't find the signed contract. I have record of this communication via text. I sent them a picture of a copy of the signed contract that I had saved in case they "lost" it again. Suddenly they said they found it amongst some other files. I was irritated but fine with it as long as they were coming to service the unit. They told me that I was now on their list. A month or two past and I heard nothing. I contacted them again via text (record retained on my end) to inquire as to when I would receive a service call. I explained that the generator was operating fine but it had a yellow light on. They said that it just a reminder for the technician to check the battery. They said that my service call would occur in the week beginning October 22, 2023. I informed them that I did not want to have to do the service myself and have to work in the snow. The week came and passed and they did not show nor did they call or text. It snowed today. I had informed them via text that their service was no longer required. I actually had two electricians at my house for other work. One of them was a former Generac tech. He checked the unit and it was fine. I was ready if they had shown up and found "Issues". I called them today and asked them if they had read my text telling them not to come. They had not and had no idea what I was talking about. The discussion got heated with the associate basically calling me and my wife liars. She used some vulgar language during this exchange. I called Generac Corporation and informed them of my experience. I do not recommend this company. This went on for close to TWO years. Read the other NEGATIVE reviews and you will see a pattern. Your staff is rude and very disorganized. It was not hard to find a better service organization seeing apparently I got started at the bottom of the barrel. Oh! and let me add that business is no place for vulgar language.

  I want to say I am very blessed that Platz Electric Co. was able to help us out so quickly, we had two trees fall and knock our power line down. It ripped the power meter off the house as well. They were out in a very timely manner, very professional, and had it fixed within a few hours. Absolutely recommend for anyone with any electrical needs. Thanks again!!
