  Had a couple of leaking valves for the washer and I didn't want to attempt to get them off myself since they were very old and corroded and attached to a soldered line. We also had a slow drip in our main shut-off valve, which I definitely wasn't going to attempt to address myself. This was our first time having a plumber out to do work on our old house and to inspect the plumbing since we moved in. I researched reputable plumbing companies beforehand and am very glad I found Coates Plumbing. The person I spoke with on the phone was helpful, friendly, and scheduled us for a next-day appointment. I received a text confirmation of our appointment date and time, which I find very helpful as it lets me know that the company is organized and communicative. Our technician showed up on time, within twenty minutes of the beginning of the stated time window. I also appreciate this since it shows the company respects the customer's time. Our technician was Matt and he was exceptionally great: professional, informative, patient, friendly, honest, and clearly an expert at his craft (a licensed master plumber). He replaced our washer valves, inspected our pipes in the basement, the main shut-off valve, and the pipes under the kitchen sink, as well as looked at our garbage disposal and gave us some information about a future sump pump installation. He gave us a health assessment of each inspected area of piping, estimates for each of the future jobs we asked about, and a general timeline and ranking of the priority for each job so we could plan and budget for future repairs/replacements. He also explained what would be involved for each job so we knew what to expect. He is a straight-shooter. He also came prepared with his own boot covers to wear in our home (we didn't even have to ask), which is extremely courteous and professional as we make an effort to keep our home very clean. Regarding the main shut-off valve, Matt explained that, while it may need to be replaced in the near future, in the meantime we can tighten the packing nut on the valve and it will stop the drip. He showed me how to do this while he did it. This boosted my confidence in the honesty of this company: they didn't try to sell us work that could wait a little while longer. So they obviously understand and appreciate that not everybody can afford to get all work done at once. So while we didn't opt to get it replaced today, we will 100% be contacting Coates to replace it when it is time. They secured our future business there. I greatly appreciate the way Coates operates. A master plumber comes to do the work, and the person you deal with during the sale is the person doing the job. While our job today was a small one, I can confidently say that Coates will be getting all of our future plumbing-related work (and there will be plenty of it with this old house). After a few previous bad experiences with companies who have done other work on our home, it's a huge relief to have found a company that takes pride in their work and that demonstrates class and professionalism. With Coates, I feel like I can trust that they will do the job right the first time while respecting our home during the process, which alleviates the stress of getting home repairs/improvements done. This company so far really seems to hold themselves to a high standard, which I greatly respect. The pricing might strike some as on the higher end, but you're getting REAL professionals in every sense of the word. I've learned time and again that you get what you pay for, and the pricing to me seems totally reasonable and representative of the level of service and expertise you're getting for your money. I'd happily pay slightly more for real professionals who care about doing high-quality work and who spare us the headache of having to project manage. If you're looking for top-quality plumbers, the price is absolutely fair. Be confident going with Coates.

  I have used Coates plumbing for over 20 years. Andy and his team do great work. They have done many jobs, Plumbing and beyond, for my family over the years. Very knowledgeable and professional. i would highly recommend using them for all of your plumbing needs.

  Coates plumbing is top notch, we needed to have our valve on the water main replaced and scheduled Coates to come out this morning. The water needed to be shut off by the city which Coates coordinated and it couldn't have gone smoother! Great company, professional and proficient.

  This is the most professional and kind company that I have ever dealt with. Mike did such a beautiful job fixing and installing all the things that were wrong in my bathroom. (Which was literally everything including cement!) Emily, Mike and Mat I am truly thankful for the care, integrity and kindness you have shown me. If you have needed any work done in your home lately, then you know how hard it is to find reputable and truly skilled tradesmen and women. Coates is one of those rare companies. I’m so thankful to have found them and highly recommend them. 5 stars is not enough. :)
