My 29 year old furnace went at least 25 years without regular maintenance performed, and had developed in the last 2.5 years a problem where it would randomly abort the start up cycle, sometimes after working fine for four months, and other times after working fine for 24 hours. I searched Google for HVAC companies near my location, and read through the reviews for those companies (I am leaving a review on Google because it was the reviews that helped me narrow down which companies to consider). I made a list of four or five of the companies, making note of how long the companies had been in business and whether or not I had heard a radio or TV ad for the company in the last week or two. I do not recall ever hearing a radio or TV ad for S.A.M.S., and that company had been in business for over 20 years, so I listed S.A.M.S. as the first company in the list to contact about having a replacement furnace installed and also having central air conditioning installed. I called S.A.M.S. around 9 AM on a Tuesday, heard hold music for maybe 20 seconds, and then talked to someone at S.A.M.S. about having the HVAC system reworked. The person I talked to scheduled the owner of the company to come out to give me a quote shortly after 1 PM on the same day. The location of old furnace is a compact space, which possibly complicated the install of a new furnace and central air conditioning. The owner of the company took several pictures inside the house to determine vent locations, condensation evacuation, and electrical supply. He also steered me toward a high-efficiency furnace and away from a high-efficiency AC unit (I also decided to go with the more expensive brand of AC unit as he suggested that brand is better known for reliability). I asked him about heat pumps, and he shared his personal experience with a heat pump that he has installed at his house – I then decided that a heat pump would not be worthwhile for my house. The owner of the company then went to his work van for roughly 15 minutes to calculate a quote. The price quote that he supplied was higher than I was expecting, although my points of reference were likely at least six years outdated. The owner told me that the HVAC industry was forced last year to switch to a different type of freon, and that freon is significantly more expensive than what was used in the past (potentially due to patents on the new freon). The owner suggested that he could switch the quote to an 80% efficient furnace and/or switch to the other brand of AC unit to save money. He also stated that his quote likely will not be the cheapest quote for the HVAC installation. I had watched a few YouTube videos prior to contacting S.A.M.S. that stated that 80% of an HVAC system’s usable lifetime is determined during the installation of that HVAC system. I liked what I saw during the quote process, and told the owner of S.A.M.S. to go ahead and schedule the installation. He then scheduled the installation for Thursday morning after contacting the office. I received a call from S.A.M.S. the next day stating that all of the parts arrived, and that a three-person crew would be arriving the next day between 8:30 AM and 9:30 AM. They did an excellent job cleaning up after themselves, and left what looks like a professional and tidy installation. There were no unexpected additional charges at the end of the installation – the quoted price was the price that I paid. I waited a few weeks after the installation to post a review so that both the furnace and air conditioner have had a chance to run for several days. It was initially hard to adjust to the furnace turning on quietly, and running its full heating cycle in roughly the time that it typically took the old furnace to complete its warm-up cycle and finally turn on the blower. The AC only runs 40% of the time in 80F temperatures. Overall, I am satisfied with the service provided by S.A.M.S. The AC system must be professionally maintained yearly to avoid voiding the manufacturer's 10-year warranty.

These people are honest and amazing. Brian and Aaron did the installation of a new furnace and central air unit, they were great. Maddie helped me out over the phone coordinating everything and was always patient and helpful. The owner Sam actually came out and did a no pressure sale

This has to be the worst HVAC service. They'll come out, makes things worse. Then pass the buck!
