This was a bait and switch for a senior citizen. Facebook is advertising a $29 tuneup special. The first two appointments were no shows. I requested the $29 fee waived if they wanted to schedule a third appointment. They said yes. When they came out here, they told me the $59 trip charge was waived. There was no mention in the Facebook special or the scheduling phone calls or the text messages about a $59 trip charge. And then they sent someone who only had a few months of experience. Very disappointed and won’t be invited back.

My garage door broke the afternoon before the July 4th holiday weekend. I called a company I'd used in the past and they were already closed for the holiday weekend. A1 scheduled me immediately - same day service! Two techs came out, clearly explained the issues and the process for the repair. Davon and his partner were super polite and patiently answered all of my many questions. My door was fixed within a couple of hours. Stellar customer service!

I am writing this to provide the honest feedback I felt too pressured to give in person. In 2025, I used A1 for a torsion spring replacement on an 8-year-old garage door and ended up paying over $2,200. Instead of a full quote upfront, the technician used high-pressure sales tactics to upsell me piece-by-piece on cables, bearings, rollers, and struts. He used guilt tactics regarding maintenance, took photos of my opener barcodes without explaining why, and plastered stickers around my garage. They clearly manipulate their online review process, as there is no way they organically earn multiple 5-star reviews every day. In my case, the technician stood over me and photographed my phone screen to force a 5-star rating before leaving. I complied because I am not confrontational, but I have since deleted that review.Based on my research, I was charged double or triple the industry average. For over $2,200, I could have purchased a brand-new door. If you think that is a fair price, use A1, but smaller shops would likely have charged a fraction of this total.

We had this company come out to provide a quote for our garage door. I wasn't home at the time, so my wife met with the technician. His initial recommendation was to replace virtually every major component, with a quoted price of over $3,700. To be clear, I'm not necessarily questioning his diagnosis or whether the repairs he recommended were needed. What I am questioning is the approach, the lack of explanation, and the pricing. Very little time was spent explaining what was actually wrong, why each component supposedly needed to be replaced, or what made the repairs necessary. Instead, we were presented with a very expensive estimate and left to make sense of it ourselves. When we questioned the price, it immediately dropped to $2,700, and within a few more minutes of conversation, it was reduced again to $900. A price changing by nearly $3,000 during a single conversation made it very difficult to trust that the original estimate was honest or accurate. What made the experience even more frustrating was the technician's attitude. Although my wife was the one meeting with him, instead of speaking with her directly and answering her questions, he insisted that she call me. It was dismissive and unprofessional. She was the customer standing in front of him and was fully capable of discussing the estimate and making decisions. When we ultimately declined the service, the technician became confrontational. Instead of respectfully accepting our decision, he went on at length about how they are a large company, how expensive it is to operate, that he drives a "$100,000 service van," and how much his tools and equipment cost. As a consumer, I care nothing about any of that. Your overhead, the size of your company, the cost of your vehicles, and the price of your tools are your responsibility, not mine. My concern is receiving a fair, honest, transparent, and consistent price for the work being performed. Rather than leaving professionally, it felt like he was trying to justify an inflated price by explaining his company's expenses. Combined with the dramatic swings in pricing and the lack of a clear explanation for the recommended repairs, it came across as a high-pressure sales tactic instead of an honest service call. This was one of the most unprofessional experiences I've had with a home service company. If negative stars were an option, that's what I would give. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this company.
