Unprofessional, zero communication, and complete lack of follow-through (from the top down).
After six months of trying to get water restoration work completed with Washovia, I'm calling it quits. Save yourself the stress and look elsewhere for your restoration needs.
My experience has been plagued by abysmal communication and total unprofessionalism from top to bottom:
Uncommunicative Owner: I have reached out at least10 times over the last six months via phone and email with no response. The only time I could get an answer was when I gave them a deadline or they would lose my business.
Never Provided an Estimate: Despite asking for a complete job quote three separate times, I have yet to receive one that encompasses the entire job, meaning I cannot get a complete payment from my insurance company.
Abandoned Equipment: When they placed drying equipment in my home, they provided no instructions on how long it should run and never followed up. I had to initiate contact after two weeks just to get them to come pick up their own equipment. And of course they want to bill me for the full amount of time, even though it could have been much shorter if they had properly scheduled follow up.
Excuses and Mismanagement: Because the owner ignored my messages, I asked someone else to reach out on my behalf. Ownership told them they couldn't proceed without a down payment—yet no one ever asked me for a deposit or payment to move forward. They claimed I was waiting on an insurance payment, assuming I couldn't pay out of pocket without ever actually asking me.
Waiting six months without a quote, a schedule, or basic courtesy replies is completely unacceptable for a restoration company. They have completely stalled my home repair process and wasted half a year of our time, and sanity. Proceed with caution.
Worth noting that ownership changed several years ago. Washovia used to be great, and no longer can be considered so.
