  It is a pleasure to share what a great experience we had with Michael and Wayne of LaPlante Electric when we had 4 light fixtures replaced, a dimmer switch installed and a light added in the attic in our place built in 1870. The men were clearly knowledgeable about all things electric and so professional and friendly. I can't recommend both LaPlante and its staff highly enough--if there were ten stars available, they'd easily earn all ten. Michael and Wayne--Thank you for your superb work and attention to detail!

  Addendum: Soon after I posted the review below, I received a telephone call from Karen in the Customer Services department to ask what went wrong and how they could "fix it". We had a very productive talk and although Karen attempted to contact me later in the day (and I was unavailable) I received a credit to my credit card. I am satisfied that they heard my complaint and made a concerted effort to correct the misunderstanding. I really am very happy with their service. Last year I contracted with Laplante to install a Mitsubishi mini split system with one condenser and three heat pumps in my home in Lewiston. The installation went very well, and I was very satisfied with the whole experience. I was told that I had to have the system services each year in order to maintain the 10 year warranty. I contacted Laplante earlier this year to schedule the service and I was given a date and time, and I was given a cost of $400 for the service on my units. Several weeks before the appointment date, I was contacted to change the time of the service and I agreed. Then about a week before the appointment, I was contacted again to reschedule the appointment, I was told that they could not perform my service because they had to serve a down unit. I was not happy because I had already been waiting for this service for several months and now, I would have to wait another month before I received the service. Because I was upset, I was informed that you would give me $25 credit for my trouble. The service was performed today. The service tech was polite and pleasant. He performed the service efficiently. When he was finished, he told me that the price was $435, I told him that I had been quoted $400 and I had $25 credit. He said he could see that credit and that would make my cost $410. I told him that that was not the price I had been quoted but he said that $435 was the cost. He discounted the cost to $400. I am not pleased with the service part of this company. First, it took forever to get a service appointment and then there did not appear to be any qualms in making changes to my appointment and then the amount charged what not the amount quoted. I am very disappointed in the service portion of this company.

  I go to LaPlante for most of the work on my home. They are kind professionals and are always very considerate of my cats. I'd trust them with about any project that I need done in my home.
