I’m giving this company **2 stars** because while the awning itself appears to be well made, the experience surrounding the measurements and final installation has been frustrating.
We contracted for an awning approximately **31 feet long**, but after adjustments were made in the field, the finished installation ended up noticeably shorter than expected. When I raised the issue, I was then quoted an additional **$2,800** to correct the length. Not only that, workmanship was less than stellar, awning was leaking and the ends of support beam were not capped. I had to call and ask for these issues to be remedied.
My concern is that a customer should not be responsible for thousands of dollars in added cost when the discrepancy appears to stem from measurements or installation decisions made during the project. I even offered to meet them halfway on the additional expense in an effort to resolve the matter reasonably.
For a project costing around **$30,000**, I expected much stronger communication, attention to detail, and ownership when a problem arose. The final product may be attractive, but the way this issue has been handled has significantly affected my overall experience.
I’m still hopeful the company will resolve the matter fairly, and I’m willing to update this review if that happens.

We contacted Thomas Awning to get a quote for a pergola installation. A representative came out to assess the project and told us we would receive a quote within a few days. Unfortunately, it has now been 3 weeks, and we still have not received anything. We have followed up twice by email but have not received a response. The initial visit went well, but the lack of communication and follow-through has been disappointing.

Had a standing seam awning created for my backyard. I enjoyed collaborating with the sales lead, Ben Walters. I was given a couple of options and a competitive price (solicited two bids). The work was completed in the time frame given. I love the end product and the fact it was crafted custom in Richmond, VA.

We advise against using retractable awnings during harsh weather conditions. However, stationary awnings are engineered to endure various weather situations, making them more suitable for use in inclement weather.
