I would urge caution before hiring Floor Tile and Carpets(David and Marc) located in Montgomery village center, Montgomery Village MD. I paid approximately $15, 000 for tile work in my bathrooms and kitchen and was very disappointed with both the workmanship and customer service. In the bathrooms, the new tile was installed over the existing tile, which was understood was contrary to the contract. The contract was also not dated, and my concerns about this were dismissed. Given the significant cost, I expected much better quality and professionalism. I recommend carefully reviewing and documenting all work before hiring this company.

David looked at a leak in my kitchen that had soaked through the wood floor; we thought it was from the fridge but he recognized the damage had been done by a slow leak from the bathroom behind the wall. It was an enormous job (to me), and they restored and greatly improved both rooms in about two weeks. David was great to work with and all the tradesmen were pleasant, professional and did high-quality work! I highly recommend them! David worked with my insurance adjuster to get as much covered as possible to replace the extensive kitchen/dining room flooring and repaint the walls, and he checked in regularly to assure all was going well. He and Marc found wood that perfectly matched the wood floor in my living room, which was visible across a tile divider. Their workers were excellent--fast and efficient and did quality work. Unfortunately, the shower hadn't been installed correctly initially so insurance didn't cover it, and it involved removing wall tiles, wall board, floor tiles, and the entire shower stall. Again, David worked with me to get done the most possible within a limited budget, keeping plumbing in place and arranging financing. He and Marc patiently helped me choose tile samples and paint colors. Edmond Home Improvement was the subcontractor. They were terrific! They lined the walls and shower floor with the moisture barrier that had been missing, laid the floor, and installed the wall tile beautifully with a minimal amount of disruption, putting up plastic sheeting each day to protect my bedroom from the dust. I was very impressed with the service and consideration of David and Marc and of all the work crews that transformed my rooms!
