Floor Tile and Carpets recently finished a full renovation of our master bathroom, and we were so pleased with the results that we asked them to renovate the guest bath as well. For the master bath, my wife and I worked with David and Marc on the bathroom design and selection of tile, mirrors, lights, fan, wall paint, and other bathroom fixtures. For the guest bath, we gave David (and his colleagues) free rein (i.e. he designed and selected everything). The results for both bathrooms were marvelous.
From the beginning of the process to the end, David and Marc were on top of things, and while sometimes they had minor differences of opinion, the synergy of their combined ideas resulted in two beautiful bathroom renovations. They make a perfect team. When we first visited the store, Marc and David provided the perfect balance of making suggestions based upon our interests and tastes (color selection, style, etc.). I do think that both David and Marc would (politely) steer customers away from bad choices, but at the same time, we found them to be very flexible if we already had something in mind.
Regarding the pricing of the tile, lights, mirrors, fixtures, etc., Floor Tile and Carpets is comparable to other stores. Related to labor pricing, they are a bit higher priced than average. But let me tell you why the slightly higher pricing is well worth it: The installation crews specializing in demolition, bathroom window replacement, tiling, shower glass, vanities, countertops, plumbing, electrical, etc., were all TOP NOTCH (and I mean ALL of them). I can tell you from previous experiences that it is better to pay slightly more for labor and not need to deal with any of the hassles, inconveniences, or “tragedies” that sometimes occur with cheaper labor at other stores. David insists on near perfection, and ALL the workers provide it.
During the renovation process, David is there almost every day overseeing the operations. But honestly, the worker supervisors are so good (and conscientious), that I’m not even sure that is necessary. It was nice that we could talk with David regarding desired changes and discuss things with workers along the way. Everybody we dealt with polite, on-time, hard-working, efficient, (legitimately) kind, neat, respectful of property, and most importantly: excelled at each of their jobs – they are highly skilled perfectionists.
