  I strongly recommend avoiding this builder. In less than a year, my home has experienced numerous issues, including a leaking roof, faulty electrical work, inadequate floor insulation, a driveway that needed to be repaved, and poorly installed drywall. I have submitted seven warranty claims, but only one has been addressed. Despite multiple phone calls and emails to the warranty department, I have received little to no response. Several repairs remain unresolved and have not even been scheduled.

  Buyer beware - stay away at all costs. Horrendously shoddy construction. The appliances have been failing within 2 years of purchase due to improper installation and terrible electrical work, with negligible support of items that should be covered by the warranty. The walls are paper thin and we can hear our neighbors constantly. The windows are single pane, meaning they are terribly insulated for both heat and sound - there's constant road and construction noise. The HOA is not concerned with safety or livability, only with the appearance of the units in sight of potential buyers. The grass and trees are all dying, one of the "nature preserve" areas was recently burned down due to local kids playing with fireworks, and the fencing next to our house has been destroyed, apparently by school kids cutting through the neighborhood.  If you have an issue and it is not something that visibly impacts the saleability of the model units, they do not care at all.

  Great location to buy your house. Close to the Metro, and to a lot of good restaurants. I moved here a year ago (April 2023) and haven't had any issues living here.

  Bought a home in this community and absolutely love it! I have been here since August 2023 and the quality of the home is great and all issues have been minor but stanley Martin would fix them very promptly. The proximity to Dc is wonderful and makes for a pleasant drive in to the city with no highways! Also having the metro so close is awesome. It’s only a 15 min walk or 2 min drive. The area has amazing restaurants, local parks and trails, and cute coffee shops. I truly believe Hyattsville is on its way up and am super excited for this community to grow.

  Stanley Martin has pretty good quality of builds but it is like any other major developer that subcontracts out their work and does not self-perform any of their work. There are issues because their subs are moving as fast as they can to get paid so they cut corners and don’t really care as long as it “looks” good. I have been working to get warranty issues resolved ever since I moved-in to the property back in November of 2023. I have gone back and forth with the superintendents to try and get these issues resolved and for the most part they have been very accommodating, however, as you begin to live in the property you start to see all the issues and all the shoddy workmanship when it comes to finishes and other trade-work and that has opened up another can of worms that the builder’s warranty department is still getting around to coordinating and scheduling. The other issue we are having is the crime, in the area. Literally 5 days after moving into the community we had a shooting right across the street that myself and another individual responded to. My partner and I literally were treating a young boy that was mugged and shot and literally bleeding on our front stoop. She was putting pressure on the bullet entry and exit wound while I was on the phone with the police and kid’s mother. This was not the first mugging that took place in this area, a week prior to the shooting there was a mugging of another young man which resulted in the young man having his phone, shoes and wallet stolen.
