Basements are imperfect structures built in soils that vary. Water in the soils leaking into basements is a problem that has troubled homeowners for over 100 years. This water will enter the basement through the walls, floors, and joints between them. Over the years, contractors and engineers have developed a wide variety of methods to keep basements dry. Some of these methods are more effective than others. Pioneer Basement Waterproofing is a world leader in keeping basements dry. We have seen tens of thousands of finished and unfinished basements with water problems ranging from dampness to all out flooding. Whether you plan to completely refinish your basement for added living space or use it as a storage area, you need to prepare your basement accordingly. Talk to one of our representatives and find out how we can keep your basement permanently dry. A wet or even just damp basement is unsuitable for finishing or even storage. Moisture will get into the building materials and/or storage and cause mold, mildew, rot, bad smells, and damage to floor coverings, furniture, and stored personal items. Unfortunately, these things never seem to get better over time. Rather, basement dampness tends to get worse over time. So even if water seepage is only a once a year occurrence, it needs to be fixed before the basement is finished as wetness will likely increase over time.

There are many reasons why a foundation may be failing. Situations, such as soil shifting, excessive water / moisture, lack of proper water /moisture, and the general integrity of the structure are all things that could lead to a failing foundation. Pioneer Basement employs an experienced work force that is equipped with the most modern tools available enabling them to deal with any situation, brick, block, or poured concrete foundations. An inspection from one of our project managers will provide you with valuable information regarding your foundation. Foundation cracks Cracks in concrete, brick, or drywall Bowing walls Water damage When Hydrostatic pressure builds up in the soil, or the soils expand with water saturation, over time it can push against your wall and cause bowing. If not solved having a bowing or a leaning wall can cause serious structural damage in the rest of the home. Minor foundation wall cracks can grow larger and cause a loss of structural integrity or, more commonly, water leakage. All of our Foundation Repair and Basement Repair solutions are open to all our service areas including MA, RI, and surrounding areas. Foundation Wall Crack Repair System CrackShield Foundation wall cracks result from soil expansion, settling, shifting, or movement under the foundation footing. Wall cracks can occur horizontally, vertically, and diagonally in the wall. Each type of crack is an indicator of a different type of stress. Cracks can allow insects, soil gases and water to easily enter the basement or crawlspace.?? CrackShield - Dual Process Foundation Crack Repair System. Stop water seepage Strengthen foundation Add stability Minimize soil gas entry Reliability (15 year warranty) Peace of mind Insects, soil gases and water can easily enter the basement or crawlspace through openings in the walls or floors. CrackShield™ CrackShield is a unique blend of two distinct processes, urethane injection and carbon fiber. CrackShield seals a crack from water seepage and strengthens foundation reducing a repair failure. CrackShield is the only crack repair system that offers total protection. Features CrackShield Foundation cracks are typically caused by drying shrinkage or thermal movement and can cause minor problems. But over time, even minor cracks can grow larger and cause a loss of structural integrity or, more commonly, water leakage. For many years, Poly Urethane Grout Injection was a typical repair for normal foundation cracks & pipe penetrations. How ever, due to wall movement and seasonal changes, contractors experienced some small percentages of failures. That is why we created our CrackShield Dual Process Foundation Crack Repair System. CrackShield is a unique blend of two distinct processes, urethane injection and carbon fiber. CrackShield seals a crack from water seepage and strengthens foundation reducing a repair failure. CrackShield is the only crack repair system that offers total protection. It will also serve as a second line of defense against water leakage. CrackShield is the most technologically advance crack repair system on the market today.

Preparing a basement for added living space requires special considerations as it will become an addition to your home, inhabited and used by you, your guests, and your children. Finishing your basement can increase the living space in your home at a fraction of the cost of constructing a new addition. Structurally, the floor, walls and ceiling are already in place - so its just a matter of finishing them to make them look nice. However, the first concern before finishing your basement is keeping it dry. This means protecting your basement not only from flooding, but from water vapor as well. A wet, or even just damp basement, is unsuitable for finishing. Moisture will get into the building materials and cause mold, mildew, rot, bad smells, and damage to floor coverings, furniture, and personal items. That is why at Pioneer Basement Waterproofing we want you to think beyond simple basement waterproofing. If you go through the effort and expense of stopping water seepage, your basement may still not be suitable for finishing. High humidity, a feature of basements simply because they reside underground, can be as damaging as a flood to a finished basement. Even if you have never experience any flooding or wetness in your basement, you should consider these precautions before you invest in refinishing. Some cautions homeowners put in a complete waterproofing system even if they have not had seepage, just in case. This makes sense from the standpoint that it is far easier and effective to install a waterproofing system in a basement that is unfinished than one that has finished walls and floor coverings that restrict access afterwards. It also makes sense to protect your investment - a simple water leak from your water heater or washing machine can cause thousands and thousands of dollars in damage. If you are going to have a waterproofing system installed, look for a closed system. If the idea is to keep humidity and wetness out of the basement, why would you install an open waterproofing system that continuously has exposed water? To maximize your peace-of-mind, Pioneer Basement Waterproofing recommends Grate Products, a completely closed waterproofing system.

We have two homes and have used Pioneer for many services, including sump pumps, dehumidifiers, basement repairs, and more. They are a class operation with consistently reliable skilled technicians. Rick M. serviced both homes recently and was extremely knowledgeable and helpful in explaining the value of an annual system check. We appreciated his excellent customer service and attention to details. Our thanks to Rick and to Pioneer for another job well done.

I had Pioneer Basement install my sump pump last year and they came out today to service the sump pump. Alfredo was amazing, he called on his way, showed up early and took the time to explain what he did and what recommendations he had for our system. Really appreciate Pioneer and their team for helping waterproofing our basement.

I would recommend pioneer basement to anyone. They did a fantastic job. They were very professional. They made sure they explained everything that could happen unexpectedly which it did. They were so punctual. Extremely clean, covered, anything that might have get dust on it The workmanship was unbelievable. I'm sorry I cannot remember the two gentlemen's names. They were brothers. They work so hard Non-Stop. Only took a break for lunch. That was it. They took every piece of dirt Rock cement. They took everything with them. There wasn't anything left at the property whatsoever. The work they did outside to dig through the lawn. If you were to look at it right now you would not even know they dug up anything because it looks fantastic, The supervisor Raphael was so easy going understood. Any of my concerns took care of everything right away they all went above and beyond. I definitely! Would contact them if you haven't any water issues. I just can't say enough about this company even when they just came out to give me a quote how? Tim and his crew went through everything .
