Flooring Store
In 1907, Ben Elfman opened a family rug business that, a century later, is still guided by a simple philosophy of offering quality goods and friendly, dependable service.
The family business was passed on to Ben’s son, Malcolm, and under his direction the company and our reputation for satisfying customers continued to grow. During this time, Mal Elfman’s found a new home in Waltham and proudly took part in the historic Moody Street revival.
Today, our large showroom is filled with the finest selections of flooring. We are proud to continue to service homeowners, professional Builders and Designers, Real Estate Developers, Municipalities and the healthcare industry.

The stairs came out excellent (not an easy task to carpet stairs). Also, I had Zero worries, concerns or off putting vibes about leaving (the install crew) unattended in our home to complete work. All work was completed above expectation; cost, schedule and install duration (I believe they finished ahead of schedule). I have been in construction for years, and Mal Elfman did deliver as promised. John (and Team), thank you again for all your hard work (I know this wasn't the easiest job). Much appreciated

- PGPaula GilliganDec 10, 20255.0December 10, 2025: I visited Mal Elfmans for the first time, hoping to find an area rug for my dining room before Christmas and I was not disappointed. Paul Jackson greeted me with a smile and described the quality of the rugs available. He provided me with a sample to take home and told me he would make every effort to have it ready before Christmas. Other stores told me it would take 4-6 weeks to get a rug cut and bound. I ordered the rug the same day and was shocked when Paul called me the next day to tell me it was ready for pick-up. What service! Needless to say, I will be recommending Elfmans and will be returning there for all my flooring.
