  Stay far away. They were just here and wanted $4500 to install a water heater. The retail price for the heater is around $600. They agreed that the tank was easy access.

  I had a horrible experience with Maffei. My mini split stopped working and called them to see if it could be fixed. The technician came and told me that the outdoor unit was dirty and needed to be cleaned. He gave me a price for the outdoor unit and then said the indoor units should also be cleaned. I had to leave urgently so the technician insisted that I pay upfront. So I did give him a card and expected That he would fix the system. I got a call Later that day, telling me that he could not get the system to work and that he could not find the right parts. So he cleaned the outdoor unit and then without checking to see if it was working, cleaned the two indoor air handlers. He then learned that the system was not working. In the meantime, he charged me $500 to clean the outdoor unit and $1000 to clean the two indoor units. I understand the $500 for the outdoor unit but why would he clean the indoor units before checking to make sure the main outdoor unit was working. He then very nicely suggested that his manager would come and give me a price for a replacement unit, including the outdoor and the two indoor units. It turns out that the price that was quoted to me did not include a rebate for the work done. I had a number of quotes from different companies in the area and Maffei was the highest, included inferior product, And never offered a discount. I talked to a plumber who used to work for them and he confirmed that this is the standard MO of the company whereby they charge a fixed price for a service and don’t guarantee results. Needless to say I would never recommend using this company in the future.
