  July 3rd I woke up in the morning to a blown hot water tank leaking water everywhere. I felt panic and I called GEM. They came out same day and the plumber Joseph B addressed the issue, replaced the water heater and I’ve been on my way since.

  Terrible experience!!! First I made an appointment online, they sent me 2 appointment confirmations but never showed up. I called and they had no record of an appointment even though I had 2 confirmations by email. Second I made a new appointment and was lied to about cost of coming out and diagnosing the problem with my hot water heater. They wanted $150 to just show up, then wanted me to sign for a $450 diagnostic fee before looking at anything. The technician was already prepping me that he was going to give me estimates on replacing the entire unit before even knowing what was wrong with it. Mind you it is only 8 years old, in great condition and was working fine!!! The only problem was an F 20 error message that needed to be diagnosed or possibly even reset? I asked them to leave and I called right away to voice my disapproval. I was treated terribly on the phone and even hung up on!! I am extremely disappointed with Gem start to finish. I used this company once before and they charged me almost $700 to reset 1 toilet and replace gasket which seemed a bit crazy. I should never have tried them again!!!! Please be aware of there bait and switch tactics as well as being way overpriced and unprofessional!!!

  Showed up same day I called. I expected the price to be high , but I was quoted $269 by a local plumber. They could not come until next week. When GEM arrived , I was quoted $769!!!!! He was able to come down a little on the price , but was here from start to finish about 45 minutes!! Very disappointed.

  Nick was great. Professional, very polite, asked me several questions times if I had questions. He came on a Saturday night when the only other plumber who would was the famous national chain. That plumber didn’t know what he was doing and left without accomplishing anything. nick knew exactly what was wrong and finished the job quickly without needing to test out a wall, like the other guy said would need to happen. The bill was incredibly expensive, above and beyond the service fee for coming. I was shocked, but it’s what I get for requesting a Saturday night service. The only other thing I would say is that with the trips in and out and the guck he was dealing with, I wish he had disposable booties to put on his feet. He tracked nasty guck on his shoes everywhere, including the carpeted stairs.

  Plumbing and Heating left sewer coming out of our shower and tub for 3 days last weekend after charging the nine hundred and sixty dollars , refusing to snake my drains. They scammed me by telling me they would give me that nine hundred and sixty dollar discount credit if I sign the contract to pay them nine thousand eight hundred and eighty nine dollars to replace all of the cast iron under our concrete slab.So after hiring them for thay price , they said they couldn't do it after tearing up my concrete slab cell floor and GEM plumbing and heating wanted to give me my money back. I told them no , and now 42 days Ultimately , they abandoned our project where my godmother is 90 years old. , leaving her cellar slab , wide , open for critters , ants , and everything else that lives in the soil under the concrete and out in the backyard is in the trench they left white , open after the excavated it. I cannot get to my washing machine because it is 4 inches of soil on the floor in between the washing machine and the whole day left.\nDirectly in front of the only cellar door. Our backyard has a trench where I cannot get out the back door now safely for days now and yesterday they left my project without calling me yes or today where now its over 2 days. Now, I will have to take them to court, to get my money back because today GEM Plumbing and heating refused to respond to any of my emails texts and phone calls leaving my ninety year old godmother and to myself with stress because of this..GEM SUCKS
