Called this company up to schedule an appointment. Their phone line is linked to an automatic AI that tries to pretend to be a real person. (It even simulates call center sounds in the background)
The AI asked some questions and scheduled me an appointment on a Friday for a 2-4 PM time window.
Friday comes and goes. At 5 PM I call back and manage to bypass the AI and get a human. They tell me they're sorry and don't know why no one did the appointment. And they'll make me a priority appointment for Saturday at 2 PM. I tell them I won't be home at that time. He replies "Fantastic, I'll make a note of that and schedule it. There will be a 299 dollar dispatch fee."
I ask him why would he make that appointment if I won't be home. He replies he'll make a note I won't be there after 12 PM. And also there is a fee.
"Why is there a 299 dollar fee now when there was no fee before?"
"You can discuss that with your repair technician when he arrives."
Yeah. They wanted me to ambush the poor HVAC technician with haggling after he came out.
Just incredibly frustrating to work with and schedule with. Also my AC is still broken.

Had an electric tank water heater installed in my home by Wilson Brothers. Luke M. was the technician that came to my home to perform the estimate. He was as polite and professional as can be. The estimate came in the middle range of the 3 estimates I got. The scope of work was installation without existing plumbing and electrical infrastructure. The whole process was easy and the work was done quickly and the installation looks great. I'm a satisfied customer and will call Wilson Bros in the future.
