Gordon’s the best! He came right out in the heat wave and got my central air running again. He’s been a reliable call for the last 6 years when I need last minute servicing/repairs.

These plumbers were fantastic from start to finish. Before they touched anything, they walked me through exactly what needed to happen: replacing the leaking copper piping and swapping out the old ball valve, explaining why each step was necessary. No vague promises, no surprises. Everything was clean and professional, and the leak is completely gone. . Highly recommend. Honest, skilled, and dependable. I'll definitely call Dear Watson again for any future plumbing needs.

Service people needed to locate shut off to outdoor spigot which was not apparent or easily located. They came out twice and owner came with them on the second visit. They were prompt, courteous, friendly and helpful ...even helping me empty the dehumidifiers needed due to water damage from leak from spigot. Replacement was efficient once they were able to locate access to broken unit. Thank you My Dear Watson!!

My Dear Watson has done 5 projects for us over last 18 months. Emergency Location and repair or leaking underfloor radiant heat system pipe repair, with new toilet and sink, vanity faucet repair with excellent results, on time, on budget. This was followed by a very in depth consult for a full gut main bathroom remodel with all new piping, plumbing fixtures, conversion to walk-in ADA compliant shower, framing, electrical, drywall, new mill work, window replacement, tiling shower and floor, painting, on time, on budget, with beautiful results! At this point we felt confident with working with Gordon and his great team to plan, design and move forward with a very large scope multiple room remodel. This included very extensive preliminary design, planing and budget meetings and strategizing living in home during remodel. We were also able to schedule face to face meetings with Gordon’s contractors for preliminary computer design, custom cabinetry and stone countertop selection, early in process. My Dear Watson has a wonderful team of professionals and they were very friendly, respectful of our home, knowledgeable and supportive. The scope of work included: full gut remodel and some removal of non load bearing walls, of kitchen/dining, living rooms to convert to open floor plan, with framing, all new plumbing, electrical, drywall, tile backsplash, custom cabinetry, full appliance package installation, lighting, drywall, millwork, flooring, painting. In 3 bedrooms all flooring, walls, ceilings painted, new millwork installed and windows were replaced, as well as reframing and hanging sliding closet doors in 2 rooms. In addition the guest bathroom received window replacement, new tile flooring, paint, sink vanity install and toilet reinstall. Then that room required then required emergency drywall and reframing as well as replacement drywall, paint and mill work due to a water leak in nearby furnace. Gordon was able to work with our insurance provider to integrate this smoothly into the remodel process even though not in scope of project for fair cost. He also concluded project with additional planned roof inspection and repairs and installation of smoke and CO2 detectors. The only delay was unavoidable when cabinet delivery was late, but other work was done durning this interval. The overall results have been amazing! The entire project results are beautiful. My Dear Watson does high quality work, their team is thorough, meticulous. All inspections were on time and passed fully. The budget was met. It was very large given scope of projects, and age of our home, but was well researched and comparable to the high end of the regional average. Our friends and family have been just amazed at the remodel results and we find all the functional design changes much easier to live with! Thanks again Gordon and you great team at My Dear Watson!

Prompt response to fix a clogged Darin and install a new garbage disposal. When making appointment I noted that my disposal likely needed replacing. The plumber brought a disposal with him. So no second visit while they went out to buy one. Easy to do business with, courteous and left premises clean and new disposal is working well. Planning to replace bathroom sink and faucets soon and will call them.

Frequently Asked Questions About My Dear Watson Plumbing, Heating & Cooling

What is the difference between oil and gas furnace cleaning?

Oil and gas furnaces require different cleaning approaches. Oil furnaces need specialized attention for the oil burner, which must be cleaned and tuned for optimal performance - a step not necessary for gas furnaces. Both types require maintenance of blower motor compartments, including thorough cleaning and filter replacement to ensure efficient operation and good air quality. The flue pipe and exhaust chambers in both systems need vacuuming to remove debris and prevent dangerous carbon monoxide buildup. For oil furnaces specifically, maintenance includes replacing oil tank and pump screen filters, cleaning the drawer assembly, inspecting electrodes and nozzles, checking oil pressure, and conducting a comprehensive combustion analysis with smoke testing. This thorough maintenance ensures longevity, efficiency, and safety for your heating system throughout the season.

Why do I need to winterize my home?

Winterizing your home during fall is essential to protect your investment. Water damage poses the greatest threat to properties, especially those unoccupied for extended periods. A fundamental preventive measure is shutting off the main water supply when leaving your home for any duration. For homes with hot water heating systems, adding glycol helps safeguard baseboard heaters and heating coils from freezing damage. These winterizing glycols are safe for both plumbing systems and the environment. We recommend developing the habit of shutting down your main water supply even for weekend absences. After closing the main supply, it's important to drain the system to its lowest point, which could be a basement bathroom, utility sink, or the bottom of your water heater.
