Backflow Service

Water safety is something most homeowners and business owners never have to think about—until a problem arises. One of the biggest threats to clean, safe drinking water is backflow, a serious plumbing issue that can contaminate your water supply with harmful substances. At Mark Johnson & Sons Plumbing, we provide professional backflow testing and certification to ensure your property meets Louisiana safety regulations and maintains a clean water supply for your home, family, or business. Backflow occurs when the normal direction of water flow reverses due to changes in water pressure. For example, if there is a sudden drop in city water pressure during a water main break or nearby hydrant use, contaminated water can be pulled backward into the clean water lines. This can introduce dangerous chemicals, pesticides, bacteria, and sewage into drinking water. Backflow is a real and urgent health risk, which is why Louisiana law requires annual backflow testing for many residential, commercial, and industrial properties. A properly functioning backflow prevention device stops contaminated water from entering the public supply. However, like any plumbing component, it must be tested regularly to ensure it is working correctly. If your property uses irrigation systems, fire sprinklers, boiler systems, or commercial plumbing equipment, chances are you are required to have a certified backflow device and maintain annual compliance through professional testing. At Mark Johnson & Sons Plumbing, we are licensed to perform official backflow testing, repair, and certification. Our team uses precise testing procedures with specialized equipment to verify that your backflow preventer is functioning safely and efficiently. If your device fails inspection, we will recommend and complete any necessary repairs on the same visit whenever possible to keep your home or business in compliance. After testing, we complete and submit all required certification paperwork to local water authorities, saving you time and hassle. Many local water utilities, homeowners’ associations, commercial insurance policies, and health departments require proof of a current backflow certification. Annual testing is not just a safety precaution—it is often a legal requirement. Failing to complete annual testing can result in water service interruption, fines, or even contamination warnings. Our plumbers make compliance simple by offering reminder services and scheduled testing plans, so you never miss your renewal deadline. We provide professional backflow services for homeowners, rental properties, apartment communities, restaurants, medical facilities, schools, manufacturing plants, and agricultural properties. Whether you need a routine test, emergency repair, or a complete backflow preventer installation, you can rely on our knowledgeable and experienced plumbing team. With decades of trusted service across Louisiana, we are committed to protecting the health and safety of every customer we serve. Unlike many plumbing companies that outsource backflow work, we handle the entire process in-house with licensed experts who understand both residential and commercial system requirements. We follow all state plumbing codes and municipal regulations to deliver accurate, reliable results every time. Our certified plumbers are trained in reduced pressure zone (RPZ) assemblies, double-check valves, pressure vacuum breakers, and all types of approved prevention devices. Clean water is something you should never have to worry about. When you choose Mark Johnson & Sons Plumbing for backflow testing and certification, you get more than a inspection—you get peace of mind. Our process is fast, affordable, and fully compliant, ensuring your water supply stays safe and your property meets all local regulations. From routine testing to complex repairs and new installations, we are your complete backflow prevention specialists. If you received a notice from your water provider that your testing is due, or if you are installing a new irrigation or commercial system that requires backflow protection, we can help. Contact Mark Johnson & Sons Plumbing today to schedule backflow testing and certification with a licensed expert. We proudly serve homeowners and businesses across Louisiana with honest pricing, fast response times, and dependable customer service.

Slab Leak Warning Signs Every Bossier City Homeowner Should Know

At Mark Johnson & Sons Plumbing, we understand how serious a slab leak can be for homeowners in Bossier City, LA. Slab leaks form beneath your home’s concrete foundation, making them difficult to detect until major damage has already occurred. Ignoring the warning signs can lead to foundation problems, structural damage, mold growth, and costly repairs. A slab leak happens when a water line buried under your foundation cracks, corrodes, or bursts. Because these pipes are hidden underground, water begins to leak slowly at first, then spreads through the soil beneath your home. Over time, this can cause your slab to shift, create damp flooring, or allow dangerous mold and mildew to grow inside your home. One of the earliest signs homeowners notice is a sudden increase in their water bill without any change in daily usage. Other signs of a slab leak include warm spots on your floors, the sound of running water when no faucets are on, unexplained water pooling around your foundation, or low water pressure throughout the house. You may also see cracks forming in walls, tile, or flooring as the foundation begins to move from water damage. If you notice any of these warning signs, it’s important to act quickly to prevent serious structural damage. Slab leaks in Bossier City can occur for many reasons. Common causes include aging or corroded pipes, soil movement caused by weather changes, high water pressure, or poor installation during construction. Tree root intrusion is also a common problem that can damage underground plumbing. Because slab leaks are hidden and often silent, accurate detection requires professional equipment and expertise. That’s why we offer advanced slab leak detection in Bossier City, LA. Using state-of-the-art technology, we locate leaks precisely without tearing apart your home. Once the leak is found, we provide expert slab leak repair services tailored to your specific situation. Depending on the severity of the damage, we may reroute the affected water line, seal the damaged pipe, or perform a direct repair beneath the slab. Our goal is to protect your home while delivering long-lasting repair solutions. Slab leaks are not a DIY job. Attempting to locate or repair them without the proper tools and training can make the problem worse. When you call Mark Johnson & Sons Plumbing, you’re getting a trusted local plumbing team with years of experience handling slab leaks across Northwest Louisiana. We provide honest recommendations, upfront pricing, and reliable service that keeps your home protected. If you suspect a slab leak in your Bossier City home, do not wait. These leaks get worse over time and can cause thousands of dollars in damage if ignored. Contact Mark Johnson & Sons Plumbing today to schedule professional slab leak detection and repair in Bossier City, LA, or visit markjohnsonplumbing.com to request service online. Protect your home, foundation, and peace of mind with help from our licensed plumbing experts.

Repaired outside water leak in April 2024 and leak is back. Called and was informed that they warranty for 1 year. Said they would come repair again. Told receptionist I don't think I can afford to pay to have the same leak repaired every 2 years. I think customers with leak issues are better served looking elsewhere for service.
