  My sump pump in my basement was not working. I have a home warranty policy, Joe Lay & Sons Plumbing was assigned to my service claim. The technician came out and said he would replace my pump but had to get it approved through the home warranty company (no mentions of anything else). 5-6 Days later I receive a call from them stating my sump pump is working fine and I have now have a mold problem. They followed that up by saying in order to see why I was having plumbing issues they would need to put a camera in and I would have to pay out of pocket. I tried to explain how I just needed my sump pump changed out but they said it was not the issue. I called the home warranty provider and they stated that they cannot pay for repairs due to the Jay Lay & Sons stating that it was not the sump pump issue rather a mold and other issue that needed a camera work which they do not cover. I had my another plumbing service come out and they replaced the pump and I have not had issues since then they did not think it was a mold or other issue. So now I am out $175 for my deductible and the money it took to install the sump pump. I understand that home warranty plans have many stipulations and restrictions but I purchase them for the sole reason to fit with the requirements of the contract and get my value from them like in this case with equipment replacement. I have heard cases of service providers who don't provide the same value service for their home warranty claims as much as their regular customers, before I have never had a problem with my warranty service or their service providers until today.

  With an older home, we are frequent flyers of Joe Lay and Sons plumbing. We are loyal to them because they are easy to schedule, honest, and efficient. We have had them fix several things at our home (with varying price points)…showers, toilets, sinks, and most recently putting in a whole house water filtration system. If you have hard water, we fully recommend looking into this option- our skin is softer and our water tastes better now! The workers are also very good and respectful about our Fort Knox style home—we have a special needs child, and have more door locks than most. 🔐 Overall, would highly recommend!

  I am beyond grateful that I called Joe Lay & Son's Plumbing when my basement flooded for the third time in a year and a half. I called them last Friday, and they showed up, assessed the problem, and fixed it the very same day. There was no call center and no endless transfers. When I called, Rob, from Joe Lay & Son's answered the phone, asked a few questions, and kept me informed throughout the day about their arrival time and any updates. Their customer service and professionalism were outstanding. I will never use another plumbing company again. These are my plumbers for life!
