I hired this landscaping company for a project totaling $5,750. The agreed work included cleaning and weeding existing flower beds, removing and replacing landscape fabric, installing approximately 2–3 inches of mulch, and completing the agreed landscaping and planting areas. Immediately after the company initially considered the project complete, I identified significant issues and documented them with photos. Numerous areas had extremely thin mulch, approximately 1/2 inch in some locations, with landscape fabric and dirt exposed. There were also many weeds remaining in beds that were supposed to have been cleaned and weeded, a stump remained, and some planting areas were left incomplete compared with what we discussed. I contacted the owner and provided photos. He initially maintained that the mulch had been installed 2–3 inches deep, but after seeing the photos, he agreed to return and correct the issues. On September 3, 2026, he returned, added some mulch, pulled some weeds, and installed two additional hostas. Immediately afterward, I inspected the work and found many of the same problems still present. I again provided photos showing areas with approximately 1/2 inch of mulch, exposed dirt and landscape fabric, and numerous remaining weeds. The company is now characterizing these problems as normal mulch settling and new weed growth. However, these deficiencies were documented immediately after the original work, were specifically why the company agreed to return, and remain immediately after their corrective visit. I am not asking for ongoing maintenance or expecting landscaping to remain permanently weed-free. I am simply asking for the $5,750 job to be completed correctly as originally agreed. I have repeatedly attempted to resolve this directly and have given the company an opportunity to correct the work, but significant deficiencies remain. I even pursued this issue being resolved through the Better Business Bureau, and the deficiencies remain. At this point, I give up.
Update: After I posted this review, Oakley Reeser contacted me, and we finally reached an understanding about the work that remains incomplete and what I expected under our original agreement. However, he has stated that he will not address the remaining issues unless I delete this review. I have given the company multiple opportunities to complete the work to a five-star standard, but that has not happened. I am willing to update this review if the remaining work is completed satisfactorily, but I am not willing to remove an honest account of my experience as a condition of receiving the service I originally paid for.
