- BWBrenda WinchesterMar 5, 20263.0Technicians were polite but estimate for water softener and installation of the system Summers sells was the highest one we received (more than double a few others). Water testing for hardness came in way higher than 2 other water tests we had done. We felt that this was a "hard sell" situation when it was not necessary. We do not want the "manager approval" game or "deal" for a better system that is more than what we need. Also the "maintenance" contract for our other systems (HVAC, etc.) was being forced upon us as part of the deal. In addition the quote for installing if we purchased was much higher than others we received from comparable companies. We have used Summers in the past for a relative's house and did not experience the hard sell approach.
