Crawl space encapsulation creates a dry, hygienic, and safe interior space beneath your home that repels moisture and allergens. This can be achieved in many ways, but the main key component is a thick, durable vapor barrier to seal out the moisture from getting in. Encapsulation protects your property and creates a healthier interior climate for your entire home.

Sophia and her crew are hard working and respectful individuals. Knowledgeable of the work they were doing. My only complaint is that the ventilation and some other shelving were not covered and they are covered by dust from concrete dust. My ac/furnace was not running but some of the dust traveled upstairs making it hard to breathe. Had to run fan to blow it out of the house. Also I was not told about having to install electrical outlets for the pump and chargers.

From start to finish Ground Works was amazing. From the first phone call setting up a time for meeting with Kora who came out. We sat down discussing what would be the best solution for the issues addressed under our new home to us as we just moved into earlier this year from lowa to Indiana. She explained everything that would be done and how it would look when it was done. When the crew of Sofia G., Phillip C., and Tyler B. were on the road Monday morning they called 7:30am and gave me a heads up that they were approximately 20-25 min out before getting here. They did this for Tuesday also just to keep updated. After they showed up which was exactly 23 minutes after the phone call, Sophia met me at the door and she was very professional, all 3 of them were extremely professional and polite, going over the process on what they were going to be doing, as Phillip and Tyler got right into their jobs looking things over for their full job, then setting things up getting their PPE on and jumped right in getting after it under the house. There was some issues of insulation falling down and some water issues that was from the pluming inside that they addressed and we all worked together with a solution. They took down and cleared the areas exposing the plumbing issues so that I could have a further look at and fix so that when the job was complete we wouldn't have any leaks on top of the flooring that was put down. WHICH LOOKS AMAZING GUYS!!! Thank you so much. Tuesday afternoon I wanted to show my hospitality and fed them lunch all they could eat smoked pork sandwiches and several salads to go with. It was nice to just sit around for a short time as they weren't being pressured for doing a job and for being great employees, it was just a relaxing time to get to know each other and to treat each other as human beings not just a number or a body. I can't thank you guys enough for the work you did and the clean up taking care of everything, something 1 am not used to after being in construction for so many years and having my disability issues from work accident. I have had many experiences that stick with me from other customers, like what I tried to show you today having lunch and nice conversations we had and their appreciation, please pay it forward when it is your turn. Thanks again Jason D.

We had three or four companies quote us on waterproofing our basement. Groundworks wasn’t the cheapest but wasn’t the most expensive and landed within out budget. The other companies displayed high-pressure sales tactics, which was a major turnoff. Most importantly, the other companies wanted to charge an annual fee ranging from $250-$500 to maintain warranty coverage on the waterproofing. Groundworks did not require a fee to maintain the warranty. That told us that they stand by their work and was a major factor in us choosing Groundworks. We were told the project would take about 3 days. They were installing a gutter system around 90% of the basement perimeter, installing a vapor barrier on the walls, and installing a new sump-pump with a dehumidifier. The entire project ended up lasting about 4 weeks. The first setback was when the crew damaged a gray water pipe. I understand accidents happen, so I was not too concerned. It took about a week to have the pipe replaced and Groundworks did reimburse us for that expense. After that, however, the job went south. We had different crews showing up randomly. Sometimes it was days between crews and we were left wondering when our basement was going to be finished. When a new crew would show up, they would tell us that the previous crew installed things wrong yet the new crew wouldn’t fix it. The work that Groundworks did was sloppy, at best. There were several rips in the vapor barrier that were just taped together. The cement poured over the gutter system is not smooth. In one spot, they just poured cement over debris, so there is a large rock-looking protrusion on the floor now. They also ignored sealing the vapor barrier around electrical outlets. This was a huge financial investment for us and we expected a cleaner finish for our basement upon completion of this project. That was not the case. Our basement has been dry since the waterproofing in June 2026, so I will give Groundworks credit for that. However, the overall quality of work and communication is subpar.
