  Jim and his team did an outstanding job with our driveway replacement. They are very detail-oriented and careful in their work. Jim also worked with the city to save some $ on the job which I appreciated. I would highly recommend them.

  I had a bunch of broken concrete where the driveway meets the garage and did not know the best approach to addressing it. A friend used Teran Concrete to replace their driveway and he spoke very highly of Jim Teran and their work. I called Jim and he came out and looked at my garage floor and spent over an hour talking about all the various solutions along with the pros and cons of each. He easily could have sold me on a complete replacement but instead recommended a solution that I could do myself and even provided me with the finishing material so it would look great afterward. I will never hesitate to use Teran Concrete not only because of the outstanding work they do but also because Jim truly cares about the final product.

  Teran Concrete did an excellent job replacing our badly worn driveway. It's a large driveway and was in very bad shape. The team put in long hours of hard work removing the old driveway, preparing and leveling the ground and new stone, pouring and smoothing the new driveway. The driveway looks great - what an improvement! In addition, the team rerouted a downspout that sent water down the driveway into the street to go under the driveway and discharge into the grass - an excellent job with that task as well!

  Teran Concrete did an excellent job removing my old asphalt driveway and installing a beautiful new concrete driveway. Owner Jim and his sons went above and beyond to do the job right, which ended up requiring additional work when, during the pouring of the new concrete, it was discovered that the edge of the street had been previously extended to meet the driveway without proper support under it…it collapsed under the weight of the concrete truck! Jim and his crew cut out the street extension and added additional length to my driveway to bring it out closer to the actual street line. This was unexpected additional work for them but he only charged me for the additional concrete needed. In the end all turned out exceptional. A local structural engineer even stopped to look at the driveway just after it was finished and came up to ring my doorbell and tell me how excellent the work was! These guys are the best, take their time, and do it right…but it’s worth the wait if you’re patient!

  When looking at contractor reviews, I am always wondering about two things. First, is it a genuine review? And second, even if it is genuine, is the reviewer *really* able to accurately evaluate the quality of the work? After all, most of us are not experts in concrete. However, I found a Google review for Teran Concrete posted here about 2 years ago, by Tony Fiorato. (If you scroll down a bit, you will find it.) And "Tony Fiorato" is none other than Dr. Anthony Fiorato who is a world-renowned expert in concrete. He was elected Chairman of the ASTM International Committee C09 on Concrete and Concrete Aggregates in 2008. You can look him up on the ASTM org web site. When I saw that he liked the work Teran Concrete did, that was good enough for me. So, I hired Jim Teran Concrete to replace 1200 sq foot of driveway, 4 squares of public walk, and my apron. His bid was not the lowest but was certainly competitive. And the quality of the work has been outstanding. The concrete they replaced was poured directly on the dirt with no gravel base at all. Jim's team dug out 4 loads of dirt, replaced with 4 loads of gravel, carefully compacted the gravel base, precisely placed the forms (full 1x6's) to get the grading just right, placed the steel mesh and also added rebar - which is pretty unusual in a residential driveway. The job then required 3 pours spread over several days. It's a very large driveway, making finishing a challenge, especially in hot weather. And the quality of the finish and the grading are excellent. It looks beautiful. I am very pleased!
