  There were some good things and bad things about this experience. On balance, I would not recommend to use this company based on my experience. For context, we had water coming up through our floorboards in the basement. I hired a different firm to repair the cracks in our foundation, and hired PuroClean to remove as much of my flooring as was necessary and to remediate the moisture problem. PuroClean quickly got someone out to my home to scope the project. I'd already had another firm in, so I already knew what scope we needed / wanted. In sum, they were to uninstall the laminate flooring, dry it out, and also treat for any mold they found. There also was a corner of the room where I'd already found some mold under the baseboards, so they were to remove some drywall and treat that as well. While they were a little bit slow to get me the estimate, they sent it before the other firm, and were able to commit to a start date three weeks earlier than the other firm, and so I went with PuroClean. The initial estimate -- about $2700 -- did not include the drywall / mold, but they agreed to add that in (up to 10 sq. feet). On the day of work, the technician showed up 30 minutes late for the appointed time. He worked efficiently, and was done in 2 hours. He also showed me what he had done. He did not explain to me (1) that he'd left 2 garbage bags of moldy tiles out front of my house; or (2) that he would not be leaving a fan to dry the salvaged flooring or floor. Shame on me for not reading the quote more carefully, because indeed PuroClean wanted to charge me $350 more to remove the garbage, and $50 more to leave the fans overnight. Again, I should have reviewed this more carefully, but it's also written in language that a lay person would not understand what is included and what is not. At a minimum, I assumed the water damage remediation firm would be drying out the room and materials. In retrospect, the $2700 fee was absurd for the 2 hours of work that the company did, and particularly given that they left the drying and garbage for me to deal with. While everyone at the firm was polite and professional, I think PuroClean over-scoped the project to be different from what was required, and put in the work they needed to but not that the estimate anticipated. I also wish they had been clearer to explain live, both the contract and what was not included (when you have water and mold, you're not necessarily reading very carefully), and also with respect to the garbage they left outside my house. I would not recommend this firm, because all of this -- and what I consider to be grossly overpriced work in view of how quickly and incompletely it was done -- left a bad taste in my mouth.
