Richard and Corwin arrived after lunch, quickly diagnosed the problem and arranged to return the next day to repair it once the coil thawed out. Richard arrived at the scheduled time, recharged it, found the leak and patched it. We're pleased.
- SSSaltforkthriftJul 20, 20261.0Beware of price and customer service: Kelso installed central air for my new construction build just over a year ago. A part already went bad on the Furnace, which was under warranty. I was told it was under warranty upon contacting them. A week later I received a bill for $300 for “labor cost”, which I was not told anything about. Oddly enough that’s the cost of the part that was replaced. After calling Kelso the explanation was it was a flat fee for labor. I also want to note that the technician was literally at my residence for 14min for the repair, I reviewed the cameras for the exact time of “labor”. The unit was also in a basement so no extra work climbing in a crawl space or attic. I could have done it myself if I knew I was going to be charged. I also called TriStar heating & Air out of Westville IL prior to Kelso. Marty with TriStar came out, diagnosed the problem, and advised me to contact Kelso since it was under warranty so Marty would not have to charge me for work. Marty didn’t even charge me a call out/service fee, which Kelso also did $85. I will not be using Kelso any further and would advise you to contact another company. I’ll be using TriStar due to the customer service he provided, I even offered to pay him the service fee and he refused to take it.

There's nothing wrong with my unit. The technician explained everything and gave me some tips on keeping costs down. Very professional!
