  Called to get my AC unit repaired as all of a sudden it wasn’t able to keep up with the heat wave we recently got. As soon as the technician looked at my unit, he said oh it’s old, you probably need a new unit. The technician inspected it for about 5 minutes and said that it was the compressor that was not working. I asked to give me a quote to replace it and he said that he really recommends getting a new unit. Definitely not the news you want to hear but since that’s what he recommended I called another company to get an estimate for replacement, as I wanted to get multiple quotes for a new unit to make a decision. The second company I call to give me an estimate came out to check out the old unit and give a more accurate quote. While there they decided to check out the current unit and said that the compressor was working good and that the only thing that had an issue was the capacitor. He replaced the capacitor and AC unit worked better than before. Definitely need to get a second opinion if Phoenix tells you, you need a new unit. Because instead of spending $7k+ on a new unit we spent $300. And Phoenix HVAC might say that my current unit might need to be change soon because it’s old but instead of gaining my future business they definitely lost it because they were saying and doing everything possible for me to buy a new unit. Definitely get second opinions when dealing with this company.

  First time using Phoenix after quitting 30-year customer relationship with a service provider who was gobbled up by a private equity firm. It was a pleasure to have someone who simply serviced my AC units without trying to sell me something!! Great start — Alex was professional and thorough.

  I requested a second opinion on the condition of my furnace and air conditioner after another company recommended replaceing them both as a resilt of my cooling tune up. Technician was clearing paid commissions! Alex K did and excellent job reviewing the system. He pointed out a couple things that could use attention and investigated if he could get the manufacturer to cover under warranty. After finding out warranty had expired, he recommended leaving them alone and we'll monitor at each seasonal service. He saw nothing that would lead him to recommend replacement of the furnace or air conditioning systems at this time. I really appreciated his expertise and honesty making recommendations like it was his system and money being spent!
