We did not have the best experience with HausRack.
My husband and I both work full time and have a toddler, so our free time is extremely limited. We drove about 30 minutes to HausRack because of the positive reviews. We are currently in need of a custom kitchen island and vanity cabinet, and unfortunately the trip ended up being a complete waste of time.
When we arrived, an older gentleman greeted us and was very friendly and helpful. He explained that we would need to speak with another employee regarding custom cabinetry. That employee was already helping another customer, which was completely understandable.
However, once we finally got a chance to speak with him, it immediately felt like he had no interest in helping us. It was honestly uncomfortable because I felt like I had to convince him to assist us. He made a sketch of what we were looking for, and when we asked for a quote, he told us he would call us back. I asked more than once when we should expect to hear from him, and he said by the beginning of the following week.
That call never came.
After waiting several days, my husband called to follow up. The person who answered had no idea what quote we were talking about. There was apparently no communication or follow-through.
I'm not sure why this employee didn't want to work with us, but if you're too busy or don't intend to follow up, just be upfront about it. We only had time to visit one place that weekend, and we specifically chose HausRack because of its reputation. Instead, our time was completely wasted.
Thankfully, we ended up visiting Cabinets City in Bloomingdale, where the staff was much more responsive. They provided us with a quote the same day, and we'll be moving forward with them.
It's disappointing because the first gentleman we met was wonderful, but the lack of follow-up and overall disinterest from the employee handling custom cabinets left a very negative impression.
