  Update: The owner contacted me to tell me he will pay for the drywall to be removed, replaced, and ceiling repainted. I appreciate him stepping up and paying to fix the damage. I updated my review with a higher rating, and I think this is a sign that you should check to see if a company has insurance and stands behind their repairs, which Stephen's has done. I had Stephen's Plumbing come out on August 25, 2026 to check a toilet seal since I could see some rust stains on my paper towel when I sprayed cleaner around the base of the toilet. I had no stains on my downstairs ceiling and the toilet was installed new in 2023. Their tech said it was pee (prob dog pee) and he cleaned it and reset the toilet. He said there's no leak. Thursday, 2 days later, I noticed some leakage on our first floor ceiling below the toilet, and thought, oh, maybe he dropped some water. However the stain grew, and by Saturday evening, I turned off the water to the toilet and called them again on Monday, They sent out another tech Monday who took his time to inspect the situation and said toilet was leaking because the area needed to be caulked more, leveled and he used a wax seal instead of the rubber one the first guy used. No charge, which was nice. However, I asked him what to do about the large yellow/brown water stain on our first floor ceiling, and whether the sewage water that had obviously leaked through needed to be dried out by removing the drywall. He said, no and it would dry out by its self and I could repaint the ceiling. Unfortunately, it's now September 5th, and all the fans we've been running since August 27th have not dried out the area. It's also kind of gross that we know it's sewage water from #1 and #2 that leaked into our flooring, the floorboards, any beam, and into the ceiling drywall. It seems like it's getting darker, as it dries. This second floor bathroom had a toilet set new when we moved in 2012, replaced in 2023 with a better, higher toilet, and neither times did it leak. It was not until Stephen's Plumbing reset the toilet that it leaked so badly, that the sewage & water went through our first floor ceiling. Yet, they don't seem to care that we have a large yellow stain to deal with.

  I wanted to thank Stephens Plumbing for another job well done. As a family-owned business, it is clear the owner truly cares about the customers. Kelly and Chad completed my service today, and they were incredibly professional, courteous, and kind. Kelly has handled various repairs at my house over the years, and I highly recommend him.
