  Charlie, Vince Miller, and John Olson were a fantastic team. We hired Chicagoland Home Inspectors to inspect a multi-unit home built in the 1890s as overwhelmed first-time home buyers with little knowledge and expertise. Prior to scheduling with Charlie's company, I called and he spent 45 minutes on the phone with me answering my initial questions, looking up the home information, and guiding me through the process. Following the inspection, we set up the zoom session and Charlie made sure to prioritize our concerns first in the initial conversation, and then also highlighted any areas he thought we should pay special attention to outside of that. Additionally, he walked us through potential trusted contractors to use and how to calculate cost estimates ourselves to ensure we walk into situations with a baseline understanding. Charlie clearly cares about the work he does and delivering on quality; so much so, he encourages his clients to reach out post-inspection with any future questions that arise related to their home. His candid feedback is refreshing, as he will give you the information very straight and ensure you aren't being taken advantage of. While he may share his personal opinion as food for thought, he is careful to provide the pros and cons and ultimately encourage you to make your own decisions based on your own risk tolerance or preferences. John & Vince were part of the team on the ground during our inspection. Both were kind, personable, professional, and helped make us feel knowledgeable. In areas of concern, they provided candid feedback and possible pathways forward to consider. John has extensive experience in evaluating older homes and it was evident.

  Michael Schejbal was our inspector, and he did an amazing job! We are first-time homebuyers & Michael took the time to explain the breaker box wiring, mechanicals, etc. He provided a thorough inspection of all elements of the property. Would highly recommend.

  Frank was absolutely outstanding as our home inspector. From start to finish, he was incredibly thorough, taking the time to carefully examine every detail and clearly explain his findings along the way. As a homebuyer, that level of diligence put my mind at ease. What truly set Frank apart, though, was his dedication. When the seller had the gas turned off on inspection day, Frank went out of his way to return to the property a second time to complete the inspection properly. That kind of commitment and professionalism is deeply appreciated.

  This review is well overdue by MONTHs. Vince was our scheduled inspector for a fully rehabbed home that we were so excited to be moving forward with. The cost was not cheap but I had heard that the price was worth it. The home was over 100 years old so we opted for both radon and sewer scope. Because of Vince we were able to ask for repairs (which were rejected), make an informed decision about the house and decided to back out of the contract. His thoroughness, attention to detail and knowledge was next level. This was a 4 bedroom 4k square foot home and it took about 5 hours. He politely asked if we were in a rush and we had time so we let him do his thing. He explained things as he went. Took photos. He got on the roof and looked through every nook and cranny. What we found was jaw dropping and because of Vince we saved ourselves about 100k worth heartache and damage that would have likely been coming from moving forward. We learned the rehab was sub par, cutting major corners. The bells and whistles wound up being a distraction of the terrible job on the structure of the home. I loved the extensive report we received rather quickly and we had a follow up call who went over the report line by line. We were so impressed with Vince. After we made the decision to withdraw (after the seller chose only small parts to repair rather than the major issues) we decided the next time we have a home we are going to come back and find Vince again. He's the best inspector I have ever worked with. He's a dream of a partner. If you're buying a home he's the one you want. If you're the seller and Vince is your inspector - just make sure your home is up to par. Don't brush things under the rug-he will find it!!
