Never have I had such a terrible experience with a company that I felt the need to share it in a review but this was so unacceptable I hope to prevent others from suffering at the hands of this business. I scheduled a simple inspection of my fully functional mini split AC units to verify they were working for the sale of my home. The technician arrived an hour late and had to use my bathroom. After finding that the units were fully functional the technician then decided to tell me that I needed to fully replace both units for almost $14,000 because they contained some microbial growth. Come to find out after speaking to two other companies that mold growth in AC units is extremely common and can be fixed with a cleaning for under $300. I don’t know how a person can take advantage of a family and try and put such an unnecessary financial hardship on them simply for their own gain. Unfortunately I am still required to pay a $170 invoice for a visit that involved turning the AC units on, taking pictures of them, and telling me I needed new ones.

REALTORS® and Property Owners Beware:
I scheduled a furnace and A/C tune-up with Bill’s for my elderly absentee seller client. During the scheduling call, I clearly stated multiple times that I was to be the sole point of contact regarding the service because my client is elderly and needs assistance understanding repair recommendations and service decisions. I was assured this instruction was documented on the work order.
Unfortunately, that instruction was not followed.
Instead of contacting me, the technician contacted my client directly and recommended a complete furnace and A/C replacement. What began as two $59 tune-up services ultimately resulted in my client authorizing nearly $10,000 in replacements.
At the time of service, the systems were operational. The primary issue reportedly noted was low refrigerant/freon. My seller had already purchased a home warranty for the buyer specifically to help address potential future mechanical issues with these systems if needed.
Had proper communication protocols been followed, I would have had the opportunity to discuss the findings, obtain additional opinions if necessary, and help my client make an informed decision rather than reacting to a high-pressure recommendation without representation or context.
As a REALTOR®, trust and communication are extremely important to me, especially when working with elderly clients who rely on professionals to respect established instructions and boundaries. Because those instructions were disregarded, I can no longer confidently recommend or use Bill’s services in future transactions.

First, 10 stars for Michael Bolton, one of the best professional workmen I've ever dealt with. He was thorough, kind, professional, and went above and beyond in checking all settings and safety of our gas tankless water heater and HVAC system while doing maintenance servicing of the water heater. I felt all gas in the house was safe after he finished, and he gave a thorough explanation of the maintenance work and replaced parts. An incident happened at our home so I was very worried about our gas appliances. What a pleasant person to work with. Bill's Heating and A/C has been consistently great, quick response to get problems fixed or new installation, reasonable pricing, very knowledgeable skilled employees. I am very confident with Bill's, so glad I chose them, and I love the tankless water heater we purchased from them, excellent.
The fan on my AC stopped working. I called Bills because the high 4.9 rate and $49 to come look at it. I was quoted $1600 for a fan motor. I asked for a breakdown and the tech said only the manager could give it. I called after 2 hrs and the lady that answered said the tech that came out gives the breakdown and she would have him call. He called and said she was wrong it's the manager. Still have not seen it. After some research found out the motor is $400. Labor on the high end is $300 an hr and it calls for 90 min. So I am not sure where the $1600 came from. I could see maybe $1000 with tax and motor markup but whatever, the real issue is when the tech was out there he was testing a bunch of wires and when I had a different company come look at it after fixing it he found out that 2 wires were swapped that can cause the compressor to break. (See pictures). I am going to give the guy the benefit of the doubt and say it was an accident. He did tell me he had worked for them for 16yrs. He was pushing me a bit on getting a new ac unit for 7k so I hope this was not a way to get me for $1600 and then put it in and say oh the compressor is bad and then getting me for the 7k on the new unit. This entire thing is very very shady. I would not have any of my friends or family use this company. Do some research and do not go off there high ratings and cheap diag fee.
April 2026. After ongoing problems and technicians coming 3 times late last year, called Bill's twice a few months ago to talk to someone, was told I would be called back, but no response. Was told they were busy, but then I see them offering specials on other services to get business. Apparently they aren't interested in warranty work.
Time to warn others.
In April 2025, Bill's installed a Hitachi mini-split system with 10 year warranty. 42K outside unit, 18K unit basement, 18k unit main floor, ceiling cassettes: 12K unit upstairs bedroom, 12K unit upstairs hallway.
Nice job of installation with some suggestions on placement, etc.
A/C worked fine, but when fall hit, noticed problems with heating. Seems to be design issues and defective equipment.
Upstairs bedroom was getting too hot to sleep when outside above 30 F. Learned that refrigerant lines will radiate heat even when not actively heating. Online instructor said this problem occurs with this type of heat system placed in small area. Ideally use different system. He had corrective actions, but Bill's said couldn't do those. Also saw in manual that multiple cassette units cannot be separated by walls (2 upstairs). Also per google, 12K units are rated for 400-600 square feet, but bedroom/bath less than 200.
Basement also overheats at certain outside temps, because basements are well insulated.
Outside unit goes into defrost mode even when 45 degrees outside and no frost on it. Maybe trying to get rid of excess heat, since takes heat from inside and sends it outside to defrost. Doesn't seem very efficient. I was sleeping near it in basement, but constant in and out of defrost mode in early morning outside is loud, so had to move.
Main floor wall unit clicks/rattles. Technicians tried padding behind it, but didn't fix. You can feel the unit wobble when fan runs, so seems defective.
