Jeff was very professional and did an excellent job explaining everything he was doing for the maintenance of our air conditioning unit. Markee suggested that we get the Kailins Comfort Club when I called to have a technician come to look at our air conditioning unit because water was leaking from the furnace. With the Comfort Club, it covered the maintenance call for the air conditioner today and will cover the winter maintenance of our furnace this fall.

Outstanding service from start to finish! Jeremy and his team did a fantastic job with our HVAC installation. The work was completed efficiently, and they were exceptionally respectful of our home, making sure to wear shoe covers inside to keep the floors completely clean. Jeremy went above and beyond by taking the time to thoroughly explain what needed to be done, why it was necessary, and how everything works. Highly recommended!

Aaron Newton came to my house this morning for my annual air conditioner service. It was so nice to have someone that told me what he was doing along the way and why certain things needed to be fixed. He was very friendly and easy to communicate with. I highly recommend him to do your service with Kalin’s. We also chatted about the Solaris kit that can be added in the future. Aaron is definitely an asset to your company.

We unfortunately had a very concerning experience with this company involving our gas fireplace and a prolonged undetected gas leak.
For nearly a year, we repeatedly reported smelling gas from the fireplace and had the company come out multiple times to inspect it. We were repeatedly assured that everything was fine. After approximately three visits, they eventually discovered that an exhaust pipe from the gas fireplace had holes, which raised serious concerns about potential carbon monoxide exposure.
Given the relentless gas smell and exposure, we decided to have the fireplace converted from gas to electric. We spent six thousand dollars in total between the repeated service visits and conversion, specifically emphasizing that we wanted the gas supply to the fireplace completely turned off and capped. We were very clear with the sales person, we could care less what the new fireplace looked like, we just wanted to make sure the gas problem was isolated and treated. He assured us it would be as it was standard practice.
Six months after the conversion from gas to electric, we were STILL smelling gas.
We called the company back again. The technician stated that 6 months prior during the conversion, while the fireplace line was capped, the basement gas line was never turned off because they couldn't locate it. We were never made aware of this. Albeit redundant, but this is the ONLY reason we felt confident spending six thousand dollars with them in the first place.
After the call, their technician came out and discovered a pinhole gas leak and had to cut the ceiling and shut off the gas supply — something we had understood was already done as part of the conversion. Our sales person had assured us this was a routine part of the install (again, all we paid for / all we cared about).
What concerns us most is not simply that a leak existed as Kalins didn't install the faulty gas fireplace that caused this. It's that we reported smelling gas repeatedly for over a year and we were repeatedly told everything was fine. We continued trusting those assurances, even after the fireplace was converted specifically because of our safety concerns.
While we are very grateful that the last team was able to detect the leak and fix it, we are extremely disappointed that it took this many visits and this much time for these issues to be identified. (not to mention the cost as it was a separate invoice to shut off the gas line/treat the leak when we thought originally that was included in the thousand of dollars paid in the conversion fee). When a homeowner repeatedly reports the smell of gas, we believe those concerns should be taken extremely seriously.
I was disappointed initially with setting up the appointment. The appointment was not communicated correctly internally and I was disappointed. Then, they somehow assumed we set another appointment a week later and the man called to confirm the appointment we never set. I allowed him to come because I still needed the work done. He was a very nice man who did a great job. I am glad he was able to accomplish what we wanted to do. Kalin’s is good and trustworthy but the communication upfront was messed up twice.
