  In October 2025, we reached out to Iowa Radon Defense. The man that came to give us a quote seemed very professional, capable, and thorough, so I put down a deposit. Unfortunatey, the man who came back to install the radon mitigation was a different person. He missed two separate scheduled appointments before he rescheduled for a third apointment at 7:00am. As far as I know, on the third appointment, he installed the radon mitigation correctly. When it came time to pay our bill, I was emailed an amount that was too much, because we had already made a deposit. I let them know we had made a several hundred dollar deposit and that I wanted a written, itemized bill before paying. They obliged and also included a link to pay the bill. My husband clicked on the link and paid. Unfortunately, when my husband paid via the link, he overpaid because once again Radon Defense had not deducted our initial deposit from the final bill. To add to the frustration of this encounter, Radon Defense continues to claim (for 7 months now) that we have not paid our bill. We have spoken with them multiple times and emailed them our bank statement showing the money ($1,000) being withdrawn on October 31st. And yet, they continue to claim we havent paid. This is the most unprofessional, disorganized, incompetent company we have ever worked with.

  Rich did an excellent job with installation. It clearly takes a unique set of knowledge and skills: logistics, construction, tools, building materials, roofing, wiring, pipe fitting, and radon detection equipment. He arrived on time and was in perpetual motion and thought the entire time. He was personable and focused. My radon level dropped from a 1 month average of 13.29 to .4 two days after installation using my own test equipment. I can certainly recommend Iowa Radon Defense as a provider.

  I had Iowa Radon Defense out to test my radon levels and to inspect my current radon mitigation system due to its age. Eddie was extremely helpful with explaining everything and gave me an honest assessment of my current system and its needs. I would highly recommend them!

  They did a great job with our radon mitigation system install. Our radon levels were at an 8.6 before and they got it down to a 1.6. The install looks very professional and came at a great price. Highly recommend.
