My experiences with this company have always been above stellar! They walk you through every step of the process, from the reception, to the very timely scheduling for an inspection, to the inspection (done by Toney), and the project (done by José and his crew).
They do their best to keep a feasible project within your budget that works! They also have financing available if needed. I will always go to them for any possible future work on my basement!
Upon initial appointment, I advised Toney of major concerns, especially a partially dugout crawlspace that was causing a mud slide into the concrete area of basement.
Apparently this was an abnormal type of situation, so he had to do some planning and brainstorming. The plan was made to encapsulate that area of the basement and place 2 empty sump pits at base of mud slide to direct the water and mud to the pits and run star pipe to existing triple safe sump pit. This was not a guarantee to stop issues but a hope.
1 year update after install this "outside of the box" idea worked far better than expected. It not only stopped the mud slide, but also water coming into basement, and has kept the basement dry.

Brian Gould came yesterday to help us come up with a solution to stop our basement from getting water during heavy rains. He showed up at 9am, after traveling from Iowa and following a horrible storm the whole way. He talked to me in a way I could understand the system he was suggesting for us, and asked questions regarding the house, our future plans for the basement and came up with the perfect solution! We were referred to MidAmerican Basement Systems via our contractor. They scheduled us very quickly and are only going to be here for 2 days!

Working with Scottie Mohr and the team at MidAmerica Basement Systems for my radon mitigation has been an absolute pleasure from start to finish.
Scottie came out to provide my quote, thoroughly explained the entire process, walked me through the contract, and gave me time to think it over with zero high-pressure sales tactics. When I decided to move forward and requested a few weeks to prepare, they graciously worked with my timeline.
On installation day, Scottie called ahead to let me know when to expect him. He was professional, friendly, efficient, and took the time to explain what he was doing every step of the way. I felt completely comfortable with the entire process and couldn't be happier with the service. Highly recommend!

This is the second time working with this wonderful team. The first time we had them remediate black mold and encapsulate our crawl space. Now we hex our concrete slab leveled with poly foam and our basement which is from 1880 waterproof! I can’t thank this company and every team member enough! Brian Gould is an absolute beast at his job! Go Pack Go!
I wish I could write a sparkling review for my experience with MidAmerica Basement Systems but unfortunately I can't. To the point - Estimator Sean came out, friendly yes, but maybe not the most knowledgeable. He concluded the best bang for my buck on the problems I was having was a new steel beam in the basement and a SaniDry dehumidifier. Albeit reluctantly, I agreed to this and it was going to run me about $6k for those two things. After a long month wait, the installers (Brian and crew) came out, took one look at the room the steel beam was going to be installed and basically said no way it would work. Not his fault. But the estimator should have immediately recognized that there was way too much HVAC equipment in the way and even a gas line preventing the new beam to be feasible. He made it sound like it was totally doable though and I just went with it. Anyway, the dehumidifier was unboxed and "installed". Unfortunately that too was a half-baked solution. The estimator promised the placement would be perfect for drying out the whole basement as just a standalone unit. Not even close. I had to call out one of their engineers to have a look at the machine, who then tried to properly angle it so it could even drain properly, and also reposition it to a central location in the basement. But then, I was told to run the drain line to a condensation pump in my HVAC system. That overflowed a day later. I had to do a bunch of DIY to get things working properly and spend more money. Still trying to figure a few things out and get it working right on my own. Go figure. I ended up having to run two dehumidifiers (one is store bought) just to get control of the moisture. Now that I think about it, why wasn't the dry rot on the beams even addressed? The dry rot seems localized, I imagine it very treatable. But I don't remember it being mentioned or anything. Treating that would have been a great alternative at the very least. I will be reaching out to someone else to address that since M.A.B.S. seems to just want to charge thousands for half baked solutions. At least on my property. It basically took a month and a half to have a $1800 dehumidifier unboxed. .... And finally... I was told someone would reach out for a potential alternative solution to the whole steel beam fail situation. Been a few weeks and it's radio silence. That's what ultimately made me want to write this. Lack of care to revisit the problem and propose another solution. I'm not great at DIY/remodeling type stuff but like I said earlier, at least offer a way to get rid of the dry rot and put in some sister boards or something more manageable. Maybe throw in a discount for the trouble (dreaming). Probably a blessing in disguise that they couldn't install the beam since I saved around $4200. Two stars at best. Be careful.
