  ​I’m incredibly torn writing this, but today was the final straw. For the last two summers, almost every appointment I've booked has been canceled at the last minute because of hot weather. Having to repeatedly rearrange my life and schedule just to be canceled on at the absolute last second is unacceptable. Today was the third consecutive cancellation, and I am officially done using this company. ​It's a shame because whenever a technician actually makes it out, they are great to work with and do fantastic work. But until the scheduling department can figure out how to honor appointments, I cannot recommend them.

  Call Schaal yall! Our air went out. Long story short, they were our third company I contacted in 2 days trying to get a new system. They were at our house within hours. They were able to get us a new system within five days. We were told 2-3 weeks by the other companies. The guys that came out were knowledgeable and nice. They knew what they are doing. We will be using Schaal from here on out! I highly recommend.

  The salesperson and initial installer were great to work with that’s where this stops being positive. We had a brand new furnace and air unit that installed was broken and did not work. It took a few weeks and several repairs without much communication and it worked. Now 5 days ago it quit working and we called, they have still not been out to look at it and will not answer when. We have a person recovering from cancer in house, several with asthma, pets and now a heat advisory/ this company is presenting as I got your money and now they could care less. Took a chance and got an very expensive burn, do not use this company on CR area

  Sam Ziebol stopped out for a call I made for questions about my furnace and he delivered. Furnace was from 03 and he diagnosed issues that a home inspection didn't pick up. He gave recommendations and was overall pleasant and very engaging to work with. He didn't come out as any random professional, but someone interested, and committed to going above and beyond. He builds a strong rapport with you as a person that makes a visit or checkup more than what another company may send.

  100% recommend! As a Realtor in the Cedar Rapids area, I know how important it is to have reliable, trustworthy service companies in our community — and Schaal delivers exactly that. Sam came out the same day I called to assess the situation with our AC, and he was thorough, honest, and extremely knowledgeable. He walked me through everything clearly, talked through all of the options, answered all of my questions, and helped coordinate both my AC and furnace replacement - they were both 27 years old! CJ and Hunter came in from the Des Moines office to handle the install, and they were fantastic. The work was done quickly and they talked me through every step of the process with professionalism and transparency you don’t always see. All three of these guys were skilled, knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely great to work with. I will absolutely be referring my clients to Schaal for all of their heating and cooling needs — highly recommend!
